A Rare Occurrence|| Michaeng Fanfic

Part 5

Chaeyoung's POV

I returned back home to my shared apartment. It was already 12am so I didn't expect anyone to be up. I unlocked the door and walked in, and to my surprise I was wrong. Not only was Dahyun and Tzuyu up, but Mina, Sana and Jeongyeon were over. 

"Uh- hello? What are you guys doing up this late." I said really confused. "Oh Chaeng welcome back, we're just hanging out since we had nothing to do." Tzuyu blankly spoke.

I went over towards them and sat next to my girlfriend. I forgot I still had Minyoung's file in my hand. "What's that Chaeng?" Mina asked, everyone else looked like they wanted to know too.

"This is Minyoung's case file." I said. "Have you read it yet? Wait, Who is Minyoung?" Dahyun asked. "Minyoung is a new child in the system, and I haven't read the file yet." I told them. "Let's read it!" Mina said excited.

"Birth Name is Kim Hyejoo, but was legally changed to Kim Minyoung. Minyoung is 1, turning 2 May 25th. She is 26 pounds. She's quiet and behaved. Her favorite color is Gray and Purple, and her favorite animal is Wolves." I said out loud. "She's healthy, no health conditions. She's Korean-Japanese. She was conceived through IVF, The mother had a good delivery but had complications after. Her mother passed away, Her mother passed away when she turned 1." I said while remembering what Minyoung was crying about. I paused for at least a Minute before someone said something. "Chaeyoung you okay?" Jeongyeon said getting my attention. 

It didn't take long until a tear fell down. "Earlier she wouldn't sleep and kept crying, she said she missed her Mommy but I didn't know anything about her. I feel so sorry." I said while wiping away the tear. 

I continued reading "Minyoung was left in her Father's custody, he had all legal rights to have her since he was married to her mother. He didn't take care of her well though, there were visible signs of abuse. Before the mother passed away she filed many reports against him. That was enough for us to remove her from the household. Her mother requested prior her passing, that she lives with her IVF donor or whoever is willing to adopt her. They will start looking for her IVF donor in April, so in a few days, unless someone adopts her. For now she's in section 2 with other 2 year olds."

I looked at them when I finished reading it, You can tell they all were shocked and sorry for her. I showed them the picture of her, "WOAH- That's literally Mina!" Sana said while laughing at the cute picture. I laughed too because I knew she looked so much like her. I looked over at Mina and she looked like she was thinking about something. "Mina are you okay?" I asked her, "We need to talk later" She said seriously. I just nodded in reply, I felt really nervous.

It was now 2am, Sana went to go sleep with Dahyun, Tzuyu went to her own room, Jeongyeon just went to sleep on the couch, and of course nothing new, Mina slept with me like she did every other day.

I was laying on Mina's stomach when she said something, "Chaeng we need to talk remember?"

I sat up and waited for her to talk. "Chaeng it's about Minyoung" when she said that, I literally thought she was gonna tell me she had a child with some man and just gave her up for adoption.

"I really want to adopt her. Can we please take her in, at least for a week?" Mina said with a really soft voice. "But Mina, I'm 19 and you're 22. Aren't we too young?" I said even though i'd love to take Minyoung in. "Chaeyoung. You're turning 20 in a few weeks that isn't bad at all, she's still 1." Mina said making a good point.
