What followed was one of their biggest arguments yet.

"Don't be so fucking stupid, Astoria!"

Draco drove his hands through his hair, not quite believing what she was suggesting. He felt panicked, as though somehow he was letting her down by being so pathetically weak that she felt she had to spend the last of her years bringing up a child so that he wouldn't be lonely.

"I'm not being stupid," she responded calmly, "Dr. Zaius said that there were no risks, that it wouldn't affect my health any further-"

"I don't need a child, I don't care if the Malfoy name dies with me, what's important is you! Don't you see? A baby would take up the last of the time I have with you!"

"Our baby, Draco! Yours and mine. Someone for you to love other than me."

"I know what you're doing, Astoria. But there is nothing in this world that would ever replace you to me. Don't you understand that? You're all I need!"

"I DO UNDERSTAND!" She yelled tearfully. "Which is why I'm desperate! I can't bear to think of you being lonely, Draco. It's literally breaking me more than this damned curse. Ideally, you would meet someone else once I've gone-"

"Don't you even fucking dare suggest that I could do that!" He cut in angrily, seeing red for the first time since he'd met her. "I've been with literally hundreds of women before I met you, Astoria, more than I can count. I've fucked beautiful women from all around the world, women who have the kind of hotness that make grown men weep. And you know what? Not a single one of them has made me feel even slightly or remotely close to the way I feel about you! Don't you fucking get it?! I love you and only you!"

Her expression seemed to go from tearful to hurt to angry all in the space of five seconds. And he watched as she drew in a deep breath through her nose, guessing what was going to fall from her lips before she even parted them.

"So." Her voice was low, dangerous. "I suggest we have a baby and your response is to tell me you have sank your cock into hotter women than me?!"

He was ready for her, not missing a beat.

"Don't twist my fucking words, Astoria. I don't want to fight with you, but if you choose to only listen to part of what I have just told you, then I will not hesitate to start one."

"Is it really so bad that I want us to have a child, Draco? That I want you to carry on loving after I've gone, for you to have someone who you will make you want to wake up each morning and live your fucking life!"

"We would be bringing a child into this world knowing it will have to watch his mother die at a young age!" Draco yelled back. "How could you think of doing that, Astoria? How could you even ask that of me?"

"They will still have you. And you will have them. You won't be alone, Draco."

"What makes you think I'd even be a good father? I mean, it's not likely considering the influence I've had."

"Because I wouldn't want to have a child with you if I thought you were going to be like Lucius... or mine. But I do Draco, I want your child and I'm asking you for this, for me."

A silence fell. She was breathing heavily. So was he.

His eyes never fell from hers. A sweep of his tongue over his lips. In that moment all he could think about was ripping her clothes off and doing as she asked. He'd never wanted to fuck her more, the idea of impregnating her giving him a raging boner.

"What are you doing?" She asked as he strode across the room and snatched up his overcoat from the back of the desk chair.

"I can't do this, Astoria." He said angrily, now no longer being able to look at her, to see the hurt and anger in her eyes from the way he'd disappointed her. "You should never have asked me."
