Story of a Squid Boy

Chapter 9:Cows and a Little A.I.D

"So what sort of physicist are you?" I ask going down the hallway.

"Well I'm a physicist of gravity," he answers "But I also took some classes in psychology."

As he ends his sentence we end right in front of the fast food place that we had chosen "Inky's Veggie Burgers".

"So that is what IVB stands for." Richie states looking up at the sign.

"Good thing they have it in the food court because I'd hate to walk further for this food!" I exclaim realizing I haven't had anything to eat for at least 18 hours. Wonder what it was like to eat squid food.

After waiting in line and getting two veggie burgers Richie and I sit at a table and proceed to eat our food.

"Good thing you found those coins on the ground this stuff is good!" I exclaim gorging the food down finishing in at least 40 seconds.
"Geez looks like you haven't had food in years!" Richie says putting a small sack which contained a single coin in his pocket.
"I really haven't had time to eat since last night."I say licking my fingers. "I actually haven't had food since I was... Well here."
"Here" he restates "you mean you've been here for less than a day."
"Yep"
"I didn't know they started the A.I.D program up again."
"A.I.D?"
"Never mind that, how was the burger?" He asked looking like he knew the answer.
"I don't know but I feel like I have eaten something better" I analyze the flavor to find this word of mystery. "Meat" I say.
"Meat?"
"Yes definitely Meat"
"Why Meat?"he looks surprised by my answer.
"Y'know, like...uhm...cows?" I attempt to communicate.
"Why in Minecraftia would we eat cows?" He asks in extreme confusion.
"Well..." I stutter looking around for an answer. " Must be my old fake memories"
"Eh it happens to all of us, it causes real weird conversations though." He says chuckling to the conversation. "Also I saw that you stole some discs from Kaila."
"Well.. I guess I was curious what the concert had to offer." I stutter pulling out to disc from the back of the shirt." If she as good as last time I may want to have a sneak peek." I say examining the discs.
I look at the discs and notice that none of the ones I took were labeled, only a thin colored strip were to be found.
"What is it?" Richie asks as I shuffle through the discs leaning over toward me.
"Why is there no labels?" I say under my breath flipping through the five I had.
"What did you say?" He say narrowing his eyes
"Oh.. Nothing of importance."I reply "Just plotting to smother you in cats." I joke as I start to measure the discs with my thumb.
"Great, glad you are thinking of that." He answers in a amusing manner.
"This discs are old... Like older than the king." I say looking at the discs "It's made of shellac and is showing pressed marks like if copies were mass produced from this record... Heck a player from now would have a field day running this! This record is a master copy!" I say assessing the disc. I knew that this was some sort of old technology. "If the kingdom is still using this tech than there must be not funding in the scientific branch, I mean..." I stop as my train of automatic thought ends and I am left stammering. "I.. Um.. Uhh."
" Dude you ok? You just had a speech about a record you stole from a girl."
"Wait how do I know all that? I don't remember knowing about music storage." I say thinking over what I just said
"Look let's head to the room so you can think this over we don't want to hold a table for no reason." Richie said as he gets up and starts to walk away "You coming?"

Have you ever felt something was so wrong that your skin felt like it shouldn't be there? Like the walls are filled with uncertainty as you walk next to them? Well, if you caught me at that time I would've explained it a whole lot better because that was all I could think of. Holes... Plot holes... Yes the story told by the king ,and people for that matter, was old, over said, or was never doubted before. If I was a squid and taken prisoner of the sky army and brainwashed to think like them... Then how would the fake world be more convincing than the reality I am in right now? Nothing that I do to explain it makes sense. It seems that the story given to me is written by a child who has manipu-.
"Hello anyone home?" Richie yells knocking at my head "Come on out!"
"Ow.. Stop it I was just thinking." I reply angered "Can I not think in peace?"
"Wow sorry there champ.. Just keeping you grounded."
"Look, I'm sorry you just startled me"
"Well, as I was saying you amulet glowed when you were talking."
"Wait, the amulet... You mean my amulet glowed?"
"Why else would I mention it they glow sometimes but not for that long."
"Why would it glow in the first place?"
"I heard it is to refresh itself or something? I don't know never really thought of it" This made no sense I must find someone else to talk to maybe Kyle the sky army 'friend' if he is for real then he must know the truth. When we get to the room I will notify him to meet by the camera he set up.
"Well, we're here at the room." I sputter "I'm going to walk some more do you mind if I get something?"
"Not at all." says Richie. I run in and rummage through the drawers  to find a pencil and paper to show to the camera. I find the pencil a but worn but still good and I find Kaila's old lyric paper.
"How did this get here?" I say stuffing it into my pocket and get a notepad to write on. "Go to the storage room to meet, we need to talk tonight." I write and show to the camera. "See you Richie!" I yell to him.
"See ya." Richie replied reading the king's book 'A Brief History of Time'
I walk out side and start walking to my destination, if no one can help me here maybe Kyle can tell me something. If he is a sky army recruit then he might know about these amulets. If worst comes to worst I can just get rid of him by notifying the king. If he is from the sky army then...

Tonight I will find out everything...

Uhh hello.. Anyone there? Oh Hello, Reader welcome back to the book that never gets updates, I bet this book has been at the back of you library and you just found it today. Well anyways I don't plan on continuing this story however who knows? I may find something in this even though I haven't watched a sky video in 2 years I may be able to complete this book.
P.S. Misty if you ever read this sorry for making this chapter come out. I really wanted to see where this would go if I continued and I may have ruined you character arc or something but, hey this can't be fun without being obnoxious and unfunny. Thank you for all the support and don't fall into a fallout coma.
