(Y/N) stood in the middle of Ciels office with their hands in front of them, uncomfortably shuffling from side to side, avoiding eye contact with the surprisingly intimidating 13-year-old boy.

"(y/n)" Ciel hesitated, "I'm sorry I sold you to Earl Trancy, I hope we can move past this, and you can continue working for me." The Earl finished trying to read his ex-employees expression (y/n)'s tail flickered with angry.

(y/n) was cold, drenched, hungry, in pain and exhausted! And all they got out of the Earl was an "I'm sorry." The neko put on the calmest face they could muster and bowed showing respect for Ciel.

"My apologies Earl Phantomhive" (y/n) had a fake smile painfully painted on their face, "but now I belong Grell... Grell is my new master," Ciels face and heart dropped. He honestly looked like he was about to cry making the Neko feel a twinge of unneeded guilt after a couple of minutes of awkward silence; as Ciel tried to process what happened while (y/n) looked for a way to slink out of the room Ciel spoke again.

"R-right of course (y/n)" Ciel stuttered leaving another awkward silence "It's nice seeing you again" Ciel attempted to engage in small talk.

"It was nice to see you as well" (no, it wasn't), "but I should really get going" Ciel didn't reply, he only stared down at his lap. (y/n) waited for a few seconds, they had no idea why, hope maybe? Just as (y/n) eventually turned towards the door they felt a forceful pull drag them backwards almost making the neko trip. Ciel kept a strong grip on his ex-employee's arm, he was so blinded by his love for the fellow teenager that he didn't seem to notice his thumb pressing into a large bruise on their skin. A realization hit Ciel in his days alone in the manor without his favourite neko by his side, he loved (y/n), it wasn't a romantic love it was. Agape. Unconditional love. He loved (y/n) like they were family and the guilt of sending them away ate them up inside, he still had no clue why he sold (y/n) in the first place. He secretly knew that whatever lead Alois had about his parent's death wouldn't be correct and even if it was, he knew he'd regret selling (y/n). So why... Ciel let out a sigh.

"Earl Phantomhive, are you alright?" A concerned (y/n) asked, Ciel had picked up a habit from (y/n), the habit of forgetting reality when they get wrapped up in their own thoughts. So he showed no reaction to the question. (Y/n) let out a sigh of their own before attempting to slowly remove the Earl's hand from their arm. The grip just became tighter to the point where you could clearly see the veins in both (y/n) and Ciels hands.

Ciel couldn't let (y/n) leave again. Not again. The guilt would consume his every thought, and not to mention the strain on his relationship with his servants. But now the neko belongs to Grell and Aunt Angelina how does he make (y/n) stay?

"Earl?"

"Earl Phatomhive, you're hurting me"

"Ciel let go"

"CIEL STOP!" (y/n) sobbed loudly, snapping Ciel out of his thoughts and gaining the attention of everyone in the manor. Ciel looked down to see the person he thought about everyday kneeling on the floor weeping, all of (y/n)'s pent up emotion leaked from their eyes. The earl looked at the nekos arm to see a bruise forming, he quickly let (y/n) go.

Darkness that's all Claude could see as he started to gain consciousness along with seeing darkness he felt a sludgy, cold substance covering the front of his body. The Walmart Sebastian laid still while trying to remember what happened the day before a sudden memory came to mind. He got his ass kicked by 2 reapers after being led into a trap while filling out the order of stealing (y/n).

"Highness is going to be so angry" Claude thought to himself, he went to sigh but ended up choking on the cold substance that covered his body like a disgusting blanket. He hesitantly pushed himself up to see he was laying face first in mud, still wet from yesterday's storm. It looked like The reapers at least had the decency to drop him off in front of the Trancy manor after destroying his clothes with blood and dirt.

Lovely. Just Lovely. The butler stretched but immediately regretted it as a tidal wave of pain hit him, the butler let out a hiss of discomfort and walked towards the manor in defeat.
