It's such a wonderful time to go hiking! The chirping birds and the sounds of swaying branches takes my mind off my worries at school.
I soon see a guy coming toward me from the road.
"Excuse me, old man!"
"Hmm? What do you want?" - Old Man
"Is this path safe for climbing? I'm not from around here."
"Sure. I own a hotel at the bottom of the mountain. A lot of my customers walk up here everyday." - Old Man
"That's good to know. The last thing i want is to get lost in the woods."
"That won't happen here, sonny. Although..." he suddenly like he wants to say something important. "Hmm... Should i tell him?" - Old Man
"What's wrong? Tell me what?"
The guy shakes his head. "Nothing. It's just a fairy tale." - Old Man
"Eh?"
"Go on. Enjoy yourself and if you ever feel like spending the night here, stop by my hotel near the street." he waves me off and proceeds down the path.
What a weird fellow. Anyway, at least he's calmed my doubts about this place. A lot of mountains and forests are dangerous, especially in remote areas like this. Wild animals can attack you anytime, so you have to be careful. Plus, you can lose your way if you're not paying attention, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I can't wait to get to the top and catch the good view!
This is really the life!
It took a while, but finally I made it to the peak! I spread my arms out and take the scenery. It seems I'm not the only one here, though. There are also several couples here enjoying themselves.
This place must be a popular romantic getaway.
I watch in envy as a guy wraps his arms around his girlfriend.
I wish I had one too...
"Hey! What are you staring at?!" - Guy
"Huh? N-nothing!"
"That pervert was looking at me, honey!" - Girl
"Are you trying to steal my girl?" - Guy
"No way! I wasn't even looking in her direction!"
"Eh? You weren't looking at me at all?" - Girl
"Of course not!"
"Waaaahhh!" - Girl
"Huh?"
The girl turns towards her partner. "I'm so ugly, even that dude doesn't want to look at me!" - Girl
"I didn't mean it like that!"
"Why you... How dare you insult the love of my life!" - Guy
Backing away slowly, I raise my hands in surrender. "Listen, I don't want any trouble."
"Too late." - Guy
"Ahhhh!" I run down the mountains as fast as I can as the guy chases after me.
"If I catch you, you're dead!" - Guy
W-what the hell's wrong with these people?!
Fifteen minutes later, I'm finally out of his sight.
Jeez! I came all the way up here to escape idiots like these, and I end up running into two of them! Anyway...
I take a deep breath.
It's probably time to go. The sun is starting to set.
Huh?
I glance back and forth.
W-where the heck am I? There should be a road somewhere here to mark the path that I took. Crap! I must have wandered off it when that dude chased me!
Uh-oh
Something rustles in the bushes.
C-calm down, Rexer. There's still plenty of time left before sunset. It's a waste of time trying to retrace my steps. I just need to go down the mountain. It doesn't matter which direction to take. All of them will eventually lead me to the street.
