The day passes by quickly. I roam around the mansion, but there's really nothing to do. No TV, no internet, and whatever books there are available aren't really my type.
Do I really have to stay inside for a whole month? I'll go mad before then!
Going into the bathroom, I resolve to talk to Hailey or Xaxxy tomorrow and ask them if I can visit around the yard as long as I promise not to escape. I can't believe I'm willing to compromise with these people, but there seems to be no option left. In any case, I'm pooped, and sleeping will help pass the time.
Yawning, I take off my clothes and procure a pair of night garments that the girls left for me. They're strangely outdated, like they belong in another time gone by, but I haven't taken a bath in two days, and beggars can't be choosers.
I felt the soap and water run and step into the old-fashioned bathtub. The water feels so good on my skin!
"KILL." - ???
"KILL!!" - ???
I must have drifted off to sleep somehow.
"I'll kill you!" - ???
Trixie is standing over me with red eyes! Before I can react, she lunges and crashes into the bathtub with me!
"W-what the hell are you doing?!"
"I can't wait for the crescent moon!"
"Y-you're nuts!"
She presses my head down towards the water! Huge air bubbles rise to the surface as I struggle to break free. But it's no use, her grip is too strong! Pretty soon, lights flash in front of my eyes.
No. It can't end this way!
Somewhere deep down inside, I manage to pull off hidden reserves of strength. Taking advantage of slippery and wet soa that's now covering both Trixie and me. I slide out of her grip.
"Hey!"
With one mighty heave, I push Trixie out of the tub and land on top of her on the ground.
"What's going on?" Her eyes seem to have lost that red shine, and she looks at me, confused. "Let go of me!"
"Yeah, right! You were just trying to kill me!"
"I-I was?" Surprisingly, Trixie's eyes start to tear up! "L-let me go, please."
What's wrong with her?
Suddenly, I remember the promise I gave to Xaxxy this afternoon.
Should I show compassion right now? But she just tried to drown me!
Still, as I stare at Trixie's form. She looks so vulnerable. Maybe I should keep my word and talk to her.
"Calm down, Trixie!"
"W-will you let me go?"
"Not yet. But I will once your sisters get here."
"I-I don't know what's come over me."
"Relax. I know that wasn't you."
"How can you say that? You don't even know me!"
"Well, your sisters seem to hold you in high regard."
"T-they do?"
"Yep. Xaxxy even told me that you blame yourself for everything that's happened. I still have no clue what that means, but it's very clear that you care about your family."
"Rexer...."
"But still, I can't just let you kill me. What were you thinking?"
She gulps. "I-I don't know, but your blood seems to have been calling me."
"I didn't hear anything like that!"
"That's because you're not a vampire, but as for me I can't resist it. I-I only had a small taste of it before. Not like Hailey, who sucked you out yesterday."
"It wasn't such a pleasant experience, and she did that as a punishment because I escaped."
"That was only an excuse. She just needed a reason to try you out. I could tell. She was shaking just thinking about you."
"W-what is it with my blood that's so special?"
"I don't know, but it makes us feel more.... normal. More human."
"So that's why you attacked me earlier?"
"Uh-huh."
I sigh."Well, at least no one got hurt."
Trixie looks at me hungrily and licks her lips.
"W-what are you staring at me like that for?"
"I-I still need your blood, Rexer. P-please, just let me have a quick taste." Trixie struggles underneath my grip.
"Y-you want a taste?"
She nods, shutting her eyes tight as if embarrassed by her request.
"I-I promise I won't kill you!"
"Well, that's a relief...No!"
"O-one time, and I promise not to bother you again for the rest of the month!"
"Oh, brother." I take a deep breath. "Well, I did give Xaxxy my word that I'd be more understanding." I stand up, taking Trixie up with me by the hand.
She glances down at my bare body, wet from the bath and quickly looks away.
"You like what you see?"
"S-shut up! It was an accident that you happened to be in the bath!"
"Sure it was. Go for it."
"Really?"
"Yes. Before I change my mind."
Trixie pauses, then smile sadly. "Thanks, Rexer. I won't forget this." Trixie sinks her teeth onto my neck.
I can feel an anesthetic effect take over.
My head swims.
She probably only meant to suck some of my blood, but it drags on much longer than expected.
The door swings open.
"Hey!" - Hailey
"Let him go, Trixie!" - Xaxxy

I-I can't feel my body!
