That's settles it! I'm not going to be derelict in my solemn obligation as the girl's buttler. This calls for a quick check, just to make sure!

I slowly unfold the underwear. They look normal...
The first one is dark red.

Judging by the lace around the sides, this is probably Hailey's.

The next one is pure black with a pink heart in the middle!

This must be Trixie's.

The last one is a bright yellow with purple polka dots.

This is clearly Xaxxy's.

"What the hell are you doing?!" - ???

I turn around and find Hailey, Trixie and Xaxxy standing there staring at me in surprise.

"W-were you looking at our panties?!" - Hailey
"You pervert!" Trixie leaps up to attack me.
"Calm down! I was just getting to know the three of you better!"
"Eh?" - Trixie
"It was an accident!"
"An accident?" - Xaxxy
"That's right! I was just... Had to check them!"
"Say that again?" - Hailey
"Why were you looking!?" - Trixie
"I had to check!"
"Why were you looking!?" - Xaxxy
"I had to make sure they were clean!"
"D-don't be fooled Xaxxy!" - Trixie
"T-that's right. There's no way he's telling the truth!" - Hailey
"Hey, you three claim to be supernatural vampires. Can't you tell when someone is lying?"
"That's not how any of this works..." - Hailey
"Maybe we can... We should give it a try! Quick, tell us a lie, and then something true!" - Xaxxy
"Sure, give me a minute to think of something."

I wrack my brain and try to come up with something.

"T-there's no way this will work, right?" - Trixie
"Hurry up. I want to see if we have another power we didn't know about!" - Xaxxy
"Ok... Well... I once tried to jumping out of a bathroom window, half naked."
"We already know that!" - Xaxxy
"Are you taking this seriously or not?" - Hailey
"Maybe he banged his head when he tried to jumping out of the window? And that's why he's acting so stupid?" - Trixie
"Now that you mention it. I do feel a bit faint..."
Trixie grabs the underwear. "That's enough washing! Go scrub the floors!"
"But, can't I have a little break? I've been at it for a while."
"No! We're not paying you a million so you can slack off!" - Hailey
"That's right. Do your job, Rexer." - Xaxxy
"Fine!" I storm out of the laundry room and exit to the hallway.

I'm really starting to regret doing this.

I walk to a nearby broom closet and grab a mop and other cleaning tools.

It's going to take forever to clean this mansion, but I suppose I should get started.

As I begin to sweep the hallway, the age of the place really starts to come out.

How old is this mansion? It looks like it hasn't been dusted in a century! Do the girls really live here all by themselves? Something weird is going on, but frankly, I don't care. All I want is to get my money and leave as soon as possible.

I stare at the framed photograph on the wall as I pass them by. They're pictures of the girls when they were young. Actually, they look the same now as they did back then. The only difference is that there are two other people with them.

Are those their parents?

"Hey, Rexer." - ???
"Ahhhhh!"

Hailey comes up to me suddenly.

"You scared me there."
"When you're done here, Xaxxy wants you to take care of the greenhouse out back." - Hailey
"Sure, sure. Just give me a minute."

Or more like a hundred hours considering the size of this house.

"Good." Hailey starts to leave.
"Hey, hold up."
"What?" - Hailey
"I want to ask you something about these portraits."
She stares at the photos. "What about them?"
"Who are these two other people?"
Hailey looks at where I'm pointing. A hint of sadness crosses her face. "That's mom and dad."
"Where are they now? Are they living in the mansion?"
"No. They're dead." - Hailey
"I'm so sorrt to hear that. Was it recent?"
"No. They lived a full life." - Hailey
"That's good... I guess..." I stare at the painting again. "But they look like they're in their early thirties in this portrait. If they died of old age, why haven't you caught up?" I scratch my head. "The numbers don't make sense."
"Try not to hurt your brain." Hailey proceeds into the kitchen, leaving me standing there all alone, still wondering what all this means.

Is it about this whole vampire nonsense again? They're really pushing it, but whatever. I'm not really in the mood for comedy.

I finish doing my job until finally, it's evening.

Good god, I'm pooped! How long have I been working? I'm starting to think that cleaning this whole place for a million dollars might not be worth it. Will I survive? Anyway, I'm done for the day. The rest of the house will have to wait tomorrow. Let me just tell the girls that I'm finished with what they asked me to do.

I head over to the kitchen but stop just at the door. I can hear voices. The girls are inside.

They seem to be discussing something important.

Maybe it's worth a listen.

Let's hear what they have to say.

I carefully place my ear against the door and listen closely.
