The Decision

The magic behind the platform

"You've got to run at the wall between platforms nine and ten" Mum said, really excited.
However me and Hermionie just looked at her as if she was off her rocker.

What was she thinking we'd face-plant the wall and be an absolute laughing stock to all the people in kings cross station. I mean hello it's a wall not a door or a barrier.

"Look watch this family do it" a red headed family came by with trolleys full and cases just like ours -that had the Hogwarts crest stamped on in golden ink.

Just like that they were through the barrier. How utterly strange but magical.

"See, it's a magical barrier and you better hurry up because you're going to miss the train." Mrs Granger said.

"If your mum pushes the trolley we'll go through together Alex" a voice from the gods said, I looked up to see it was my dad. I just handed my mom the trolley and grasped my dad's hand.

"Ready, 1,2,3"

I closed my eyes waiting for impact but nothing happened. I had stepped out onto the bustling platform 9 ¾. I couldn't believe it!

There were families everywhere hugging their children goodbye and sending them onto the train. There were animals chasing each other around. It was wonderful. The atmosphere was friendly and joyful. I couldn't wait to get to the school.

I turned to find my parents who had wandered off near the scarlet train.

Once I had found them, my mom had lifted my case up and followed me into a compartment and told me I'd later share it with Hermionie. We stepped off of the train and back to my dad who was holding Willow in her cage. I grabbed her off him and ran to the cart we'd put my case in and popped her there.

I ran back over to my parents and engulfed them into a hug. I wasn't going to see them for a while and I knew I would find it hard.

"Bye sweetie remember to owl us letters" Mum smiled with a tear running down her cheek.
" I will owl you every week and once we get to Hogwarts, don't cry mum I'll be back for Christmas" She hugs me again then I hug my dad"

"Bye kid you'll be fine don't worry about anything and you have already made a friend so that's a plus, we will all see you at Christmas" he leans down and kisses the top off my head.

I run back to my compartment in the train and lean out the window, this is going to be a great year. I wave at my parents and they shout "love you" which I reply by shouting back "I love you 3000".

Hey guys I'm back and I'm going to try posting when I can as I'm still really busy. But this book isn't on hold any more. Hope your enjoying the story as much as I enjoy writing it.
