Eve knew that today, she wasn't going to school as she had an appointment with her doctor to see how everything was. She may feel fine, but she just wants to make sure nothing was wrong. Klaus sat in his car thinking about this appointment. He had this feeling that Alice was hiding something, especially with how she left this morning upset. Eve walked out and over to his car. "I'm nervous."

"I know." Klaus said as he got out and over to her. "I hope its good news."

"And if its not." She replies causing him to look up at him.

Klaus didn't know what to say. He couldn't lose her, not now and not never. Eve nodded knowing he didn't know what to actually say. "Let's hope its good news."

Eve sat waiting for the results with Klaus. When Carlisle walked back in, they saw his face. "Eve, I'm sorry, but it seems that you had a heart defect since you were born. Your parents didn't take any actions and it looks like you won't make it till graduation."

Eve covered her mouth as she had nothing to say. She was dying. "No." Klaus said gaining their attention. "I'm not losing her. If I have to I will turn her before she dies."

"Klaus..."

"I can't lose you, Evangeline. I love you too much." Klaus said as he walked out of the room as Eve started crying.

Carlisle looked at Eve and hugged her as she didn't know what to say. Klaus walked outside and towards the woods. Emmett and Jasper appeared seeing his face. "Klaus, she needs you."

"I can't be in there knowing my mate is dying. This shouldn't be happening. I wanted to turn her after we had wed and now...it hurts knowing my mate will die before my plan falls through." He said as he ripped a tree up and tossed it. "I can't lose her."

At the hospital, Eve fell asleep as Carlisle stepped out of the room and sighed. This wasn't supposed to happen for the young girl, but he knew fate can be cruel. Klaus walked back in with Jasper and Emmett. "Are you okay, son?"

"No." Klaus said.

"She's asleep if you want to take her home. I'm going to call Charlie about what is going on because Eve will need help soon." Carlisle tells him. "She needs you, Klaus. More than ever."

Klaus nodded as he walked in and picked up his sleeping mate. "Let's get her home." He said as he walked by his brothers.

Jasper and Emmett followed him. Emmett knew Jasper was holding his breath as the hospital always smelt like blood to them. Klaus on the other hand was more focused on his mate instead of the smell. "Is he thinking of turning her?"

"I don't know."

Eve sat in her room thinking about how this was happening. She was dying and her life didn't get to start just yet. She may never experience what its like to be married, to have children, even though she knows Klaus can't have children, or to have a job. She was set free a few months back, but now, its like the torture started again in a different way this time. "Eve." She looked up to see Charlie and ran to him.

At the Cullens, Klaus had made up his mind. "I want her to be turned before she dies." He says. "I finally have her and I'm not losing her. If she dies before I can turn her, then I will join her. I won't live without Evangeline Swan."

They nodded understanding his situation, but they weren't going to let the mates die. Eve made things better for them and Klaus was their brother/son. They can't lose them both. "We will keep an eye on her and when we know its time, Klaus. We will turn her." Carlisle tells him as Klaus nodded before he left to hunt and to be alone for a bit. "Alice..."

"I will keep watching." She said.

Rosalie hugged Emmett as this should not be happening. Esme looked at Carlisle as he held her. No one said a word as this was too much to bare.
