Who are you?

Everyone headed to their cabins to get some shut eye. When everyone was asleep, I got out of bed and took my aviator jacket before quietly sneaking out. I walked on the wet grass with my bare feet. I didn't feel cold but I knew I was going to catch a cold. I walked by the banks of the lake, waiting for dad to arrive. I received a letter a few days ago, a request to meet him here on my birthday at night. I just hope he doesn't forget like how he usually does. "Hey kiddo." I turned to meet a pair of grey eyes like mine. Then man had salt and pepper hair but he looked young and fresh. He wore his red pajamas with a matching robe. "Hey dad. Nice of you to dress up for me," I ran up to him to squeeze him in a hug. "I could say the say about you," he hugged me back. So I guess you're wondering how he got here. Well, you see, when I first got here, dad had this little cabin not too far from the camp to help me in the quest to defeat Masoumeh. The evil queen who wanted to pledge all humanity into darkness. I had nightmares about those from time to time a few days after defeating her. Her son, Oscuridad, was taken by the other guardians since he wanted to be one too. Which was adorable. I broke the hug and looked at him. He had dark rings around his eyes, indicating that he hadn't slept in days. "Dad, when was the last time you slept?" I asked him but he shrugged the matter off. "That doesn't matter. It's my girl's 17th birthday! You've grown up so fast," he wiped a fake tear and I giggled at the action. "How's Phoebe?" I asked. Phoebe is my adorably annoying little sister. I did miss her a little bit but I'm happy I'm away from her chaotic self for a while. Dad has been visiting a lot lately which was a good thing. We all missed him being around besides my grandma. She really didn't like dad but it seems that she now tolerates him. Dad observed my jacket then smiled weakly. "I remember when you never wanted to take that jacket off," he said. I smiled too. I loved this jacket to bits. It was the only thing keeping me warm on my quest to end Masoumeh's reign and save everyone last year. When I wear this jacket, it brings back the memories. Even though how some were painful. "How are you coping with your... you know," he said. I just shrugged in response. "I'm getting better at it but I rarely use them now. I mean, what's the point?" I said. We were referring to my powers I got from the Queen. They still hard to control especially if you're still a newbie like me. I use them from time to time when I'm bored or want to get things my way. It's not my fault I was gifted/cursed with something like this. So I just make the fun out of it. Dad reached for his pocket and took out a little box and handed it to me. I opened the box and saw a gold pendant in the shape of a bow and arrow. I smiled widely and attacked dad in a hug. "Thank you!" I squealed as I put it on. "You like it?" Dad asked. "No," I said. I saw his expression fall. I giggled and hugged him again. "What I meant was that I love it," I said. I could feel dad shivering. "Dad, you should go to sleep," I told him. "I guess I should," he rubbed the back of his neck. I hugged him for the last time and starting making my way to the cabin before anyone noticed me. I saw a shadowy figure by the lake. I turned around to try and see who it was. I couldn't really make it out. I crept up to the person and tapped the shoulder. The person flinched and in reflex, I hope, they tackled me to the ground. "Oww!" I said. The person was now on top of me. He's eyes widened when he looked at me. He quickly got off and helped me to my feet. "Sorry about that. But you don't sneak up on people like that," he whispered a yell. "And you don't sit alone in the dark outside," I retorted. He shrugged and looked at the beautiful lake glistening ahead of us. I tried avoiding the lake after what happened the last time. I know it was a year ago but I have issues. "But you're outside too," he stated in a 'matter-of-factly' voice. "Well that's different," I said, folding my arms. "Different how?" he asked, meeting my gaze. His eyes! It was him! The boy from the mess hall who stood by the entrance. "So are you a new camper?" I asked. The boy frowned. "Of course I am. It's not like you've known me from a couple of years back," he said, running his fingers through his hair. It looked like it was wet. He was probably standing in the rain I caused a few hours ago. I rolled my eyes at the response. "Forced?" I asked. I remember I was forced to come here. "I guess you could say that," he responded. He shoved his hands in his pockets and muttered a curse. "What's wrong?" I asked. He looked at me again and shook his head. "It's nothing," he said. "No it's not," I said. The boy sighed. "I actually lost something that was very important to me and I can't find it anywhere," he said, his head hanging low. "Wait, you lost something?" I asked. My hand automatically went to the pocket knife that was in my pocket. I carried both the one I found on the ground and the Swiss army knife dad gave me. I knew I would never lose them if I put them in my jacket pocket because no one dares to touch my jacket. Not even Liam. But I think he does behind my back. The boy nodded. "Was it perhaps, I don't know. I'm just guessing here, a pocket knife?" I asked but it sounded like a statement. The boy turned his whole body to me and squinted his eyes at me. "How do you-," he started but I cut him off by tossing the knife to him. "Don't mention it," I said and turned around but immediately stopped in my tracks. "Your name doesn't happen to be Bellamy?" I asked. "Bellamy Collymore. Why you ask?" He asked. "I bumped into your little cousin," I informed him. It took him a while to process what I was saying before he responded. "Jaelynn?" He asked and I nodded. "Oh," he looked at the lake for one last time before stretching. "I guess I should get some shut eye," he walked past me but stopped. "Oh, and Blaire. Happy birthday," he smirked before fading into the darkness.

I woke up extra early so I could rush to the showers before anyone else did. I got dressed in my camp t-shirt and black jeans with black sneakers. I brushed my hair and made sure it looked neat. It grew longer than I expected. I still hated that troll for yanking a huge potion of my hair. Good thing I didn't need to do a come over. I walked out the showers and saw Jaelynn standing by the Wolf Cabin, picking the flowers that were growing. Next to her, leaning against the wall was Bellamy. He said something that made her smile widely. He looked up and saw me and waved. Being the nice person I am, I waved back. "You know him?" Someone from behind me asked. I turned around and saw Olivia standing behind me. I shook my head. "Not really. Am I know that his in our cabin and that the little girl is his cousin," I replied. Olivia yawned, which made me yawn too. "Why are you up early?" I asked her. "Just gotta prepare activities and safety precautions for the campers," she answered. "I feel like I've seen him somewhere but I don't remember where and when," Olivia rubbed her chin. "Let me go and shower. And Blaire, CITs don't need to use this shower. They can use the counsellors' showers," Olivia said as she headed off. "I've been using this one for a while and you only tell me this now!" I said as Olivia walked off. I turned around and walked over to Jaelynn and Bellamy. "You're the early bird," I said to Jaelynn. "Yep! Mom always complained that I never got enough sleep," Jaelynn said. I chuckled. I looked at Bellamy and caught him staring. He quickly looked away, embarrassed. "And your cousin is the opposite with staying up late," I joked, receiving a few giggles from Jaelynn. "Hey Jaelynn, aren't those daisies?" Bellamy pointed. Jaelynn jumped out and ran to their direction. I looked back at Bellamy who was still watching his little cousin run off. He then turned his attention to me. "Hey Blaire, can I ask you a favour?" He asked. "A huge one, in fact." I raised a brow. "What type of favour are you talking about?" I asked as I crossed my arms. Bellamy looked at his shoes, not meeting my eyes. "Well, since I kinda trust you, I need you to-," we were interrupted by the sound of a door opening. A few seconds later, Liam popped his head out. "What are you guys doing here?" He asked, his hair looking like a cow licked it. I turned to Bellamy. "I was leaving. Bye Blaire," he said as he followed the tracks of his little cousin. "Who's he?" Liam asked, frowning at him. I pouted and in a baby voice, I said, "Are you jealous?" Liam tackled me and tickled me. I covered my mouth trying not to laugh too loudly. "I just showered, Liam," I said, in between breaths. He gave me a peck on the lips and stopped. "I could never get jealous. I know you wouldn't leave me for another," he smiled and I hugged him. "But you're so going to pay for messing up my hair," I said. With that, he stood up and ran. I chased him in pursuit.
