Chapter Three

At Kawamura's Sushi 🍣

Kumi's POV

They all went inside the sushi restaurant. She's in the same table with Fuji, Eiji, Kaido, Kunimitsu, and Akiko while the rest spread out and take the available tables. Everyone is talking about the game while we all wait for Ryūzaki sensei, Sakuno, and Ryoma to arrive. Even reporters from Monthly Pro Tennis, Shiba-san, and Inuoe-san are here.

Soon, the people that we are waiting for arrive. Momo dragged Echizen inside. The latter's injury seemed to be okay now. Thank God.

"Come over here, Echizen!" Horio waved his hand.

"Hai, Ryoma-sama." Shiba-san greeted while holding her camera. "One plus one?"

"Ne."

Everyone was chaotic. Laughing, chatting, and so on...

"Sorry to bother you with many people." Ryūzaki sensei apologizes to Kawamura's father. The two reporters did the same, too.

Kawamura-san scratches the back of his neck. "Don't worry about it, just enjoy yourself." the old man humbly replied. "First of all sensei, congratulations on winning."

"It's only the district. The real games haven't begun yet."

"Here, go ahead, sensei." Kawamura-san offered her for a drink.

"Ah, I'm driving." she politely declined.

"Ah, that's too bad. How about this teacher here?"

Akiko and I held our laughing as Kawamura-san motioned his hand to the teacher he was referring to, which happened to be Kunimitsu.

"I'm the captain, Kunimitsu Tezuka."

"Ah, I apologize for my rudeness."

We can't hold it anymore and started to burst out laughing, Seigaku members also laugh.

"I told you many times already to stop that stoic look of yourself, Kunimin. See, I am right. You look really old now." Akiko tease. My cousin just glared at her in return. If it was a member of the tennis club, probably that person might be running a hundred laps around the tennis court by now, but it is Akiko who is talking. She doubts if her best friend shivered in fear even a little.

"Anago!" Eiji looks at the plate on their table only to find that there were no anago at all and Kaido too the last piece of it. He was looking for one when he saw Fuji eating sushi rolls. He fakes Fuji to look at Kumi and then grab one roll.

"It's hot!" Eiji suddenly burst out. "What are you eating?!" he asked the tensai. Out of curiosity, she looked at Fuji's plate and saw wasabe sushi in it.

"Wasabe sushi." Fuji laughed at Eiji's behaviour.

That's what you call karma!

She gave Eiji a cup of tea right away. She moved her gaze to the tensai. He really had exotic taste buds to enjoy wasabe sushi and even Inui's juices.

"If you keep staring at him, he might melt." Akiko whispered in Kumi's ear. Her face promptly had a red tint on it. She looked around if someone had heard her best friend.

"Shut up." she murmured. "I'm just looking at him, and it didn't even last for five seconds."

"It's actually more than five seconds."

"No, it's not!" It was too late for her to cover her mouth since she said it loud and clear.

"What is it, Kumi-chan?" Eiji titled his head, confused.
