We were just sitting around, not really doing much. Vinnie was next to me on his phone, Seyma's playing xbox, and Leo and Ayläh are on the floor playing with Tülay. It was pretty calm, until the door was slammed open.
"Kids, I'm home!"
None of us made an attempt to move, which made my mom mad.
"CHILDREN, I AM HOME."
Seyma looked up, "We know."
My mom just went back out the door and slammed it shut. I didn't feel bad in the slightest about what had just happened. I know none of my sisters did either. Call us cold-hearted, but that woman is terrible.
"I'll be right back."
I got up and went to the computer, looking through the desk drawer to find out where she actually went for two months. I found a folder labeled, 'Don't Touch.' First instinct? Ding, ding, ding! I opened it.
I walked out to the living room and plopped down in between Seyma and Vinnie.
"Guys, check this out."
I looked through and saw the first paper.
Eylem Akisler
Date of Birth: June 5, 1996
Name Changed From: Mia Jade King
What? I read the next three papers.
Seyma Akisler
Date of Birth: August 29, 2003
Name Changed From: Juliana Morgan King.
Ayläh Akisler
Date of Birth: June 5, 2006
Name Changed From: Aidyn Grace King
Tülay Akisler
Date of Birth: December 23, 2011
Name Changed From: Maison Clare King
Wait, what? I thought she was my mom. Well, to be fair, I also thought I was full Turkish, apparently not. How could she even put this act up for sixteen years?
Seyma looked at the papers, "What's this mean?"
I sighed, "You're name is Juliana. I'm Mia. Ayläh is Aidyn, and Tülay is Maison."
"How?"
I thought for a second. Come to think of it, whenever 'mom' disappears, she claims to be pregnant. She comes back a year later and bam, I have another sister.
"So, you aren't Turkish?"
"Apparently not."
Vinnie put his hand on mine, which was on my lap, and sighed, "We're going to figure this out."
