It seemed like the longest time. 10 days and Annabeth didn't bother to even say hello to Percy. He walked to school by himself. She avoided him at school. She struggled to carry her books on her own but knowing Annabeth he knew she could hold a grudge if she wanted. He felt terrible. He knew he shouldn't have been talking to Rachel but he didn't want to be mean and say no. Except now he wished that he had said no.

He stopped trying to go to her house to apologize after the three day mark.

He was skateboarding in the park around 7 PM that weekend when he was stopped by Octavian.

"Where's your girlfriend? Last time I saw her I got her knee pretty hard." Octavian smirked and Percy jumped off his board.

"You better watch it." He pushed Octavian back.

"You wanna go Jackson."

"You did this to her!" He shoved him again but this time Octavian shoved him back. "SHE HAD EVERYTHING PLANNED OUT! YOU RUINED IT!"

"She deserves nothing. She's a dumb blonde girl, she can get anything she wants with a kiss."

Percy threw off his helmet and finally came at Octavian. He had snapped. Percy wing a few punches. He finally gave in though when Octavian hit his nose and it started bleeding. He put his finger to his nose and thats when Octavian kicked him down to the ground.

Percy pulled the hood over his head tighter. He didn't want anyone to see what had happened on Sunday. He wandered though the halls of the school with his head down. He was 17 he should've fought back harder. He saw Annabeth and kept trying to hide his face. That's when she spotted him.

"Percy? Why are you hiding you face?" She came up to him and tried to pull the hood down but Percy pushed his hand away.

"I thought you hated me."

"I do but if there is something ever wrong I can always put that aside..., for you."

Percy felt like a little spark in him was reignited. Annabeth took his hood down to see a bruised, cut, and black eyed Percy.

"I- I might've picked a fight with Octavian over the weekend." He mumbled quietly.

Annabeth had her hand over her mouth and she hugged Percy.

"Are you okay? OH MY GOD YOUR MOM! Is she freaking out? Percy..."

She hugged him tighter and Percy was struggling to breathe.

"I'm okay Beth. A little sore but that's all."

"You never pick a fight with him again, okay?" She placed a hand on his shoulder after coming out of the hug.

"Not even if it was about you?" He asked with a signature smirk that always made Annabeth know he was dead serious but also still playing his same goofball moves.

"You got in a fight because of me? Percy-"

He cut her off.

"I might've gotten a tad defensive about the whole breaking your knee thing."

Percy let out a nervous laugh and Annabeth smiled.

"You're making it really hard to be mad at you, but I still am. I hope you feel better."

Annabeth walked away but Percy was grateful. A spare minute talking was better then nothing.

What Percy was failing to know though was that as he and Annabeth got further apart she only got closer with Luke. Everyday she talked to him after school while working on her application. She looked at the file that had Percy's application. She knew that she wasn't going to be working on it with him anytime soon.
