Getting out of high school was one of the biggest chapters of their lives finally closing. So many things had happened. Especially senior year. It was sophomore year when Annabeth finally found herself, but she really hadn't until her accident. When she realized Percy was the one person with her through thick and thin. And now it was a race against time for the summer. The time they had left together. Before something was going to happen even they both struggled to admit to reality. Ever since prom the endless I love you's had kept coming. Each time either one of them said it the other felt like they were on cloud 9.
~60 days before Annabeth leaves for New York~
I'm never going to find anyone like him again, Annabeth thought to herself as she was in the car with Percy and the radio was blasting.
It was summer vacation and Percy was going to live it to the fullest. He planned out the entire day. From them having a picnic in the field, to going home and binging Friends. Annabeth admired his determination but she reminded him that they had time to live, not to rush things.
That afternoon they had a picnic in the grassy field which was blooming with summer flowers. Percy's mom made them blue cookies which they ate in a matter of minutes.
"This is so good!" Annabeth let her head drop back as her mouth was experiencing an explosion of sweetness and taste.
Percy chuckled. His mouth stuffed with a cookie.
"I told you they were the best." He said after swallowing.
After that the both laid in the picnic blanket and stared at the beautiful summer sky. The clouds traveled by and every time Percy remembered this one game they played in 7th grade.

7th Grade
"Beth get back here!!"
Their class was playing infection tag at lunch and Percy was chasing after Annabeth.
She hurdled over benches and the outdoor picnic tables in the courtyard. She even dashed through the basketball court. Percy was about to tag her when she swerved out of the way.
"Got anything else Seaweed Brain?" She asked while trying to rub it in that she was clearly winning.
"Yep." He smirked.
Grover came from behind and tried to tag her. She knew something was coming and then ducked under his hand and rolled onto the concrete. Grover couldn't stop his running feet for momentum and finally stopped next to Percy.
"Dang, show off much?" Percy said crossing his arms.
Annabeth let out an exasperated breath.
"Better step up your game." She turned around and ran.
Percy and Grover who were breathing heavily look at each other.
"Why- is- she- so- fast-??" Grover managed to say through his deep breaths.
Percy just laughed and then ran after her.
~~~
When they got back to Annabeth's place they watched a movie, as the tradition went. It was all so new to Percy how they could just cuddle on the couch without it being weird anymore. Percy looked down at her and smiled. Annabeth met his eyes and then raised an eyebrow.
"Why are you looking at me like that???"
"Because your beautiful." He smirked and then Annabeth tossed a piece of popcorn at him.
