This morning I woke up to the sound of Emma crying. I got up and looked at her. Something was definitely not right.
She was shivering, but bright red. I felt her forehead. Oh my god. She was burning up. And not like "oh no, she has a fever. Lets give her som Tylenol. " but like "holy shit I need to go to the emergency room now. "
I woke up Lou and we drove immediately.
Once we got there, they took her away to the ICU. We were panicking. We waited in the waiting room for about two hours before a doctor came to talk to us.
"It seems that Emma has Scarlett fever. " he said.
What does that mean? I said, worried.
"Well, it is a very severe illness that could lead to a lot of things."
Like what?
"Well, sometimes psychological problems when children are older, and other times, even death. "
That's it. I knew it. Our baby was going to die.
