Ben helped her down from the tree and he grabbed the suit case and handed her the duffle bag. They kept walking for a while before they saw the house.

Miranda had her head down as they walked. She was just over whelmed.

Ben walked around back and Miranda watched as he kicked the door in. The electricity didn't work in the house but they were fine with that.

"Sure is a lot of dust." Ben said and Miranda didn't respond.

"Baby are you okay?" Ben asked concerned.

Miranda didn't answer and Ben looked at her sadly,  he walked around looking for things. He opened their bag and grabbed the flash light before finding the bathroom.

He took a wash cloth and he wet it after the water got hot. "Here you go." Ben said handing it to her and letting her wipe the blood and sweat off her face.

"Miranda talk to me." Ben pleaded.

"I almost got us killed. It was stupid. Why did I scream?" Miranda mumbled frustrated.

"Miranda you couldn't help that. You gave a natural reaction." Ben replied walking in front of her.
"I was trying to get my knife. I knew the gun shot was loud and would attract them. So it was me that attracted them but I don't care about all that. We are safe and that's all that matters. But It was dark, I couldn't see and I hesitated firing and for that, I'm sorry. I won't do it again." Ben assured her kissing her on the head, nose then lips.

Miranda felt her tears coming on,  she broke their gaze. "Your wrong. It was me, I- she recalled and before she could stop herself, she pressed her lips against his. Ben hungrily captured her lips and moved his against hers. He caressed her bottom lip, it was so succulent and full. It was no denying that he loved this woman. At first he thought maybe because it was the end of the world but he quickly realized that she captured his heart in this short amount of time and he was in love with her and every part of him felt it.

They eventually broke apart and Ben went to find a blanket. He pulled the candles out of their bag and he lit them setting them on the coffee table in front of the sofa.

"Are you hungry?" Ben asked and Miranda shook her head no and he wasn't surprised. He wasn't either, after their marathon. He just wanted to rest.

Ben laid back on the couch and Miranda came and crawled over top of him. Stretching out as she laid on his chest.

"Do you think it's other people out here or it's just us now?" Miranda asked.

"I think it's groups and camps probably in hiding or have made their territory.. do you want to meet others?" Ben asked.

"No and I'm hoping we don't come across anyone." Miranda answered honestly.

"Why?"

"Because in most movies I've seen and I've seen a lot, the people are always hostile and mean because they think we will try to steal their food, weapons and things and we don't have time to deal with that. We are on a mission." Miranda answered and Ben nodded understanding.

The couple laid their silently for a while before they both found sleep.

The next couple of days went by as they walked and then drove. Walking now. Miranda looked over at this beautiful neighborhood with huge mansion, Million dollar homes. They were in Minnesota and the state pretty much looked deserted.

"Can we walk through here?" Miranda asked and Ben smiled turning to walk in.

"We should stay here Ben." Miranda said looking at the nice huge mansion home with a long drive way.
