Miranda drove until she reached Ohio. She got out as she came across this motel. Miranda walked into the office and got a key. She brought her duffle bag and backpack inside.

Miranda sat on the bed and she ate the food she'd packed. Before curling up into a ball. Miranda laid there and she thought about Ben. She thought about this man every second of the day more than she thought about her own child.

She missed him so much and she wanted to just be with him. Have him hold her, and hear his voice.  She hated on top of this that she didn't have anything to look at, touch and think of him.

Miranda cried, she had been crying non stop for days.

Her eyes were red and her chest constantly hurt. She had to tell her self to keep moving forward and do this for him and Tuck.

Miranda drove until she reached D.C
She had to find a map just to get to NASA’S head quarters and this one was tough to actually break in. Because of the top security system and metal doors. Miranda eventually found away in and she walked around.

"This is so fucking cool." Miranda gasped. The teenage nerd in her arose.

Miranda looked at all the machines and different things and she picked up books and things to figure out the technology.

"The Rs-25." Miranda looking at the machine pointing in the sky.

Miranda looked at the book’s information on it and she figured out that she just had to dump her solution Into the oxygen tank.

Miranda did so and she closed the chamber. But now she needed away to draw all of them outside.

Miranda pressed the button for it to start and she listened to the extremely loud noise it made as it got started.

She knew that it would take a while before it rained so Miranda wrote down information in her notebook. Recording everything she could think of about what she had done. She saw this discarded camera on the desk of a worker and she cut it on. Taking pictures of the machine and her work.

Hearing a loud banging noise, she knew the bustling, clanking and rumbling of this machine attracted the zombies. Which was good  Washington D.C was a hot zone infested with them. She just needed to draw all them out.

Miranda put her gun into her pocket and she grabbed her notebook, finding an emergency exit.

Looking around Miranda cheered inwardly when she saw Sentry siren. In a field across the street. It was a high climb but Miranda was determined.

She jogged across and began to crawl up the very tall ladder. Getting to the top, Miranda slid on it.

It was an outdoor warning siren, known to most people as severe weather sirens or tornado sirens, it was one of the most effective ways to inform the public of dangerous weather conditions and other emergencies.

Miranda knew of this because of the cold war that ended in 1991. Even in school they had to learn how to protect them selves from nuclear attacks when the sirens went off.

Miranda clicked on all the buttons until she heard the obnoxiously loud noise that startled her. She stumbled back and was grateful the rail was behind her.

watching thousands flood the streets hungry for humans. She then pulled the camera up and snapped photos. No one would believe her of this sight of monsters.

And then she saw it and for the first time in days a smile spread across her face. It was beginning to rain. Miranda watched intently as it fell. She was nervous because she really only had this one shot.

Miranda squinted and she could see the discoloration in the people clear up.

"Oh god it's working." Miranda shouted for joy. She continued to take pictures of the process.

"Thank you God." Miranda praised as she continued to look at normal people. The crowd looked around confused.

Miranda grabbed the walkie attached to the microphone and she pressed the button to speak

"Attention citizens of Washington DC. I am doctor Miranda Bailey. I know you all are confused, scared and over whelmed. I want you all to remain calm and listen to me.” Miranda commanded and explained everything that was going on and what she wanted them to do.

Miranda climbed down and she began talking to military personnel’s and people in charge. "I would like to talk to the secretary of defense." Miranda asked and they nodded.

"Okay we can escort you to the pentagon." A man in a uniform told her.

"Dr. Bailey. It's very nice to meet you and I heard from the loud siren that you are the woman who fixed this national state of an emergency."

"It's very nice to meet you and thank you but sir it's not over. I could only fix this and now it's the rest of the united states."

"What do you need? I'm willing to help you and get you to the office of national infectious disease."

"What I need is a lab, a hospital and a research team and then we can proceed from there." Miranda told the man and he nodded his head.

"WHC is the biggest hospital in Washington DC. They have huge labs and everything you could think of." A man spoke walking up to Miranda.

"Miranda looked at the Doctor who's white coat was bloody and ripped.

"Thank you... could you show me the way. " Miranda asked with a smile and she thanked the secretary of defense.

"I will be in contact with you Doctor Bailey for the next step."

"Alright. Again thank you for your cooperation."

"I am Doctor Davis." The man introduced himself as she walked next to him.

Miranda shook his hand as they walked together.

Miranda got to this hospital and she walked inside. She saw other doctors who she could tell were zombies once before. Their clothes were raggedy, dirty and bloody.

"I need doctors that works in pathology, Hematology, oncology and anyone that is innovative with research." Miranda yelled loudly.

Miranda was working hard for days with this team of doctors getting l things together, they were finding the dead zombies and extracting blood from them. They were making so much cures and were ready to distribute it out.

20 Days passed and Miranda was nervous, the military was rounding everyone up and she wanted to see Tuck. She prayed to God he was safe.

She still needed a lot of the zombies' blood. So they would line them up and extract blood samples before issuing them the cure.

State by state everything was turning back to normal. The government was being set up again. Stores and markets were getting in order. Things felt better. Miranda never ever felt good though, the love of her life was not with her and everyday he was gone she felt sick almost.

Miranda arrived in Baltimore and she drove to Tuckers parents house. Miranda thought about the memory, first meeting his parents, they were such warm and nice people and she grew to love them. She just didn't know that they raised a shitty man.

Knocking on the door hard, Miranda waited on a respond.

"Hello. Is anyone here." Miranda yelled.

"Hellooooo." Miranda called out again.

"Hi Miranda." A man said answering the door.

"Oh my goodness Mr. Jones it's so good to see you." Miranda mused as he embraced her in a hug.

" you know you can call me dad, like always. Come on in everyone is out back."

Miranda smiled as she followed him inside.

They walked out back and Miranda saw Tucker's mother, Tucker and a woman who Tuck was laying in her arms.

"Oh Miranda." Tucker's mother said when she walked in.

"Hi Ms. Joyce." Miranda smiled.

"Mama." Tuck called out as he scrambled out of the woman's lap.

"Oh baby." Miranda cheered as she  got down on her knees to embrace her son.

"Oh my gosh mommy missed you sooo much." Miranda cried as she kissed him on the head and held him rocking back and forth squeezing hard.

"Hey Miranda." Tucker smile as she stood putting Tuck on her hip.

"Hey." Miranda spoke softly.

"Uh this is Stacy. Stacy this is Miranda."

"Hi, it's nice to meet you Miranda. Like he said I'm Stacy. his fiancé." She said with a smile extending her hand.

Miranda never looked down at the woman's hand ignoring it on purpose. "Dr. Miranda Bailey." She said with a forced smile.

"Hey Miranda come on in side. It's food on the stove." Joyce said and Miranda nodded walking with Tuck.

Miranda sat in the chair with Tuck in her lap.

"You know you will always be my daughter." Joyce said and Miranda gave her a light smile.

"That means a lot. Thank you with Tuck and looking out for him. I greatly appreciate it." Miranda said softly.

"Yeah, we were so worried about you and Tucker really was."
Miranda couldn't  refrain from rolling her eyes at the statement about Tucker.

Tucker could die and go to hell and she wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Miranda sat at the dinner table with everyone as she explained her cure to them and what was happening. So far they reached almost all the states on the east coast.

"That is so good Miranda." Joyce praised.

"Miranda can I talk to you for a minute." Tucker asked after dinner and Miranda looked at him like why but then she moved to get up.

They walked outside and Miranda sat in the chair on the porch and she crossed her arms.

"I'm glad you're okay." Tucker said touching her arm.

"Yup, no thanks to you." Miranda mumbled moving her arm

"Miranda I would have came for you.-

"But you didn't, and you made sure you got your fiancé. You went into the hospital daycare and grabbed our son but didn't think to go up a couple of floors for me. Tucker I'm the mother of your child and you basically left me for dead. There is nothing for us to ever talk about If it's not concerning our son. You didn't have to worried about me. I had someone who was and made sure I was okay. " Miranda responded.

"Miranda-

"Mmmmm" Miranda responded shaking her head and raising her hand to tell him she didn't want to hear it.

"I thank you Tucker really. If you would have came for me, I would have missed out on the opportunity to meet the most wonderful man. He changed my whole life, so seriously thank you for leaving me and I have some more work to do with the CDC and the department of infectious diseases and they will make an announcement when it's clear to travel and go back to normal lives and I will be back to my get my son.

Miranda said getting up and going back into the house. She stayed with them for a couple of days and put up with Tucker and his fiancé, just so she could see and be with her son.

"Okay mommy has to get going and then we will be back home together and have so much fun and playtime." Miranda chimed kissing him on the head so many times.

Back on the road again Miranda went back to the WHC. She went into her office and she sat down  reading through her paper work. She had so many privileges and badges. She honestly loved it. This is where she wanted to be in her career. Literally everyone knew who she was. She was heard about and prestige already but it was so much more and she only wanted Ben beside her.

"Dr. Bailey the CDC just approved for western vaccination process and the military planes and trucks are being sent out as speak." Her assistant said walking in her office.

Miranda's eyes widen and she got out of her chair. "Okay. See if you can get in contact with the secretary of defense and tell him I need to be on that plane to Illinois and a personal car waiting for me."

"Will do Dr. Bailey."
Miranda sat on the plane and she looked out the window sadly. She prayed to God that Ben was alive and well. She was prepared to run into his arms and kiss him like never before. God she missed that man.

"Dr. Bailey." Jessica her assistant called and Miranda looked over.

"I'm sorry you just had a sad longing look on your face. Everything's going to be alright. You saved us all."

"I hope so." Miranda said blowing out a breath.

"Your husband?" Jessica asked and Miranda shook her head.

"Who is I

"The one." Miranda responded.

"And he turned." Miranda added as she let a tear fall.

"Here." Jessica stated and Miranda nodded wiping her tears and turning to look back out the window.

Miranda went to facility after facility trying as they gathered the walkers group by group. She was standing behind the glass looking, hoping that she saw Ben and none of them were

Days passed and they were reaching the last city. Miranda hands shook as the groups stood getting cured in the glass box but nothing.

"He's gone."  Miranda cried finally breaking down. She felt out of breath and sick. She quickly grabbed a chair before she passed out. Miranda put her head into her hands and she cried.
