The End With You

Miranda was back home in Seattle. She was glad to be back. She loved Washington DC and everything they had to offer but when they offered her the job of being over the national department of infectious diseases. She couldn't do it. She was a surgeon at heart. She loved that work and she didn't want to move from her home.

She never thought to this day that she would be a millionaire but here she was. Miranda decided to still over see meetings and teams but she wanted to do it in Seattle. She knew that if there was ever another state of emergency, she would be called in and she was fine with that.

The only thing that was ever not okay was Ben being gone. Now that she was home, she wanted to hire someone to go through and do a search for him but how would she when she had nothing to go on.

She did look up his brother Curtis Warren and that's who's house she was on the way to now.

Miranda got out and smoothed down her dress and she walked to knock on the door.

"Hi, how may I- wow you are the woman from TV. You saved us." Curt said and Miranda smiled.

"Your brother helped me." Miranda added softly and watched as his eyes widen.

"Ben, where is he?" Curt asked opening the door wide so Miranda could come in.

Miranda was already in tears and she couldn't control them. "We met 3 months in to the apocalypse and we were together. We were surviving, figuring out how to do this cure and once we had it, we traveled from Seattle up until we got to Illinois and the attack happened at the place we were sleeping and he got bitten by one. I was going to use my cure to save him and he asked me not to and to go save the world. Much to my dismay, I didn't want to do it. I loved him so much and even now I am still in love with him. " Miranda explained and she listened as Curt talked about him.

"Curt who's here." Miranda looked up from the couch to the hallway as and older man came into the room.

She knew it was Ben's father. They were identical.

"Hey dad, this is Ben's girlfriend." Curt introduced.

"Hello sir I am Doctor Miranda Bailey." Miranda extended her hand but was surprised when the man pulled her into a hug.

Miranda sat with them for hours talking. She told them about Ben and how he was so protective and anything else she could think of.

Miranda went home that night and she laid in bed thinking about Ben.

Why was love like this? It's been months now and if she wasn't working, it wasn't a second that went by where she didn't think of him.

The next morning Miranda showered and dressed ready to go back to work.

She looked around at the remodeled place and all the construction workers. She couldn't believe that the Miranda Bailey laboratory and research wing was being added to Seattle Grace.

Miranda went Into the attending's lounge and she changed into her scrubs and new white coat. There was a meeting scheduled in the main conference room and Miranda walked to get there on time.

Miranda opened the door and she jumped when everyone clapped.

"Thank you Bailey."

"Congratulations." And so many more different praises flew her way.

"Oh my god. You guys." Miranda gleamed touching her heart.

"I missed you all and I'm glad you are back." Miranda smiled.

Miranda's eyes widen when Arizona stood using a cane. She felt bad for breaking her leg but she couldn't bring herself to tell her it was her fault.
