I Won't Hurt You

Chapter No 12

Lia gave her a dress to change in to for the funeral. Tears won't stop falling from her eyes.
"It's okay." Lia conferted her with a hug. "every thing has to return where it belongs." she continued. Maria's eyes puffy from crying all day.

It had been two days since the funeral. Maria hadn't eaten any thing since then except for the blood which was keeping her alive. It was evening when Luis came over. "I know Maria  it's not the best time. But we have to leave for the forgotten land. Tomorrow midnight at the full moon." he sat on the arc of her round  bed. She layed on her bed, sheet draped over her.

Maria flipped the page of her biological dads diary. She sat in her dad's study.
" Ouch." she cut her finger with the paper. Drop of blood dripped  down her finger to the page which was blank. As soon as it drenched in to the paper a map appeared. She recognized the area, it was a map of the forgotten land.
Maria stuffed some clothes in her backpack and her dads journal.
The night was cold and uneasy Maria couldn't sleep.
The next day Luis and Maria spent their time with Darwin's family.
"dear you can come over when ever you like." Mrs Darwin told Maria.
"thank you. " Maria stretched a smile on her face cause she knew it won't happen. She told Maria to stay seated while she prepared the meal.
"dear can you grab the ice cube tray from the freezer." she asked Maria, Lia was cutting the lemons for the lemonade. And Luis was cooking spaghetti. His mother told Maria that he was master at cooking them.
He looked cute in the pink macaroon apron. Mr Darwin sat at the table and  was busy with his office work. Once in a while he glanced at his miss and gave her a smile. Maria noticed that Lia recembled  her father more than her mother. Her father had refined features and blue eyes like lia's. While her mother had green eyes.

After dinner they talked about their time togather, how much they enjoyed their vacations. Maria told them how she used to spend her summers with her dad.
Finally the day was over.
"every moment spent with you was precious. I am sure I can't find a loving, cute and supporting friend like you in my whole life. I love you Lia." Maria hugged her, tears formed in her eyes.
"mom, dad I wish every one has parents like you. Supporting, loving and understanding. I love you. " Luis pulled them in a bear hug.
They weren't sure about the situation, "we love you too Luis." they told him.
"what about me?" Lia asked. They ugged her and offered Maria to join in.
Before leaving Luis created a fake memory in their mind that he was dead and it's been a day since they returned from his funeral. They both stood out side the house, Luis mother had forgotten all the joy they had together today and all she could remember was that his beloved son died in a car accident a day ago. Lia had gone up stairs probably to her room. Luis mother stood on stairs watching his son's picture which were hung on the wall.she was trying hard to hold back her tears but they just rolled down her beautiful yet sad face. Luis dad came to her . He must have also cried cause his blue eyes were puffy. "Honey"he spoke his voice all shaky.He held the picture from her hand of Luis.
He must have been 9 in that picture .little Luis had chocolate all over his face and he was crying, his mouth open.In the back sat small Lia who was having a tea party with her stuff toys.
Luis knew if he stayed here any longer hell break down in to tears. He wanted to go inside and tell his parents that he was okay, and he was alive. He wanted to tell them he loved them more that they knew. But he was helpless. The situation had bound him. Maria had been crying since they left the house. She hugged him from behind trying to comfort him or her self. She wasn't sure her self. They stood in front of the window as they watched Luis parents cry out of greaf. Luis wanted to forget all the problems and rush to his parents and get all the love he could. But sometimes  life doesn't give you what you want.
Maria pulled his arm to tell him to leave, she knew if she spoke she'll start to cry.
It was almost midnight when they reached the cave. But as soon they heard some voices they hid behind a large rock.
Person 1:"cmon I'm thirsty. Please."
Person 2:" they'll be here soon."
"are they waiting for us?" Maria whispered in Luis ear.
"hmm."
Person 1:"just one feed. Cmon well be quick."
Peraon 2:" okay you'll feed on only one person."
They dissappeared in the dark.
"hiro be quick." Maria told Luis.
He pushed the stone to open the cave. The rock splited in to two halves. As  they were about to enter the mouth of the cave, something held Maria from walking forward.
