Outside the window
Its the sound that's heard
The most beautiful melody
The first drop of water
Then another and another
Its smell filled the world
Alas! the May Rain has come.
Rain rain go away
Come again another day
Sang the children playing.
But the farmers wish otherwise.
You're a little late this year
It's our fault, but we complain
Still, you've come with the wind
And blessed us with your water
You've drench the dry land
You've doused the angry fires
You've filled the empty wells
You've put greens in the browns
Oh, what a wonderful sight
I hope everyone's like you
A blessing and hope
