I want to see the stars
Up above the dark sky
The little dots of diamonds
Twinkling and shining about
I looked out the window
But saw nothing
I made my way out
But still saw nothing
Only the pitch dark sky
Nothing to shine on them
The stars are closer now
Shining the world not the sky
I looked past them
But I can't see the stars faraway
Only the ones on the streets
With their orange lights
