Chapter XVIII: Confessions

(Y/N)'s POV

It's now the next day. Alois and I decided to stay at Phatomhive manor to make sure Ciel is okay. Admitedly, he was much happier having me here rather than Alois but after a bit of convinving on my part he agreed to let Alois stay the night.

We just finished breakfast and now Ciel asked me to join him at one of the greanhouses. He shut the doors and paced around a bit, looking very very nervous.

Ciel "look. (Y/N). It's about what i said yesterday."

Yeah. I had a feeling it was that.

Ciel "i didn't mean- well i did mean it but... i didn't mean it the way you might have thought i meant it. Or... i did. Depending on what you think i meant by it, i may not have meant it... but- don't take it the wrong way!"

A small sideways smile made it's way to my face as i watched Ciel bumble around on his words completely unsure what to say. It's honestly very amusing.

Ciel "ugh! Im messing up! Okay... what im trying to say is... i like you... i really like you... i want to ask you if you feel the same way to me. If you don't then just say it as it is. I'd rather know now."

My smile still present as i pointed out his pessimism.

(Y/N) "is your glass always half-empty? I haven't even said anything but you're already scared i'd reject you."

Ciel "im just...! Feelings are hard to put into words!"

(Y/N) "then let me put it this way..."

I walked up to the unexpecting Ciel and gave him a small kiss on the lips and then taking a step back and looking at the dumbfounded Ciel with a smile.

(Y/N) "you're a great guy, Ciel. If you'd only look past your mistakes, you'll see that. But as for your question; yes. I do like you."

Ciel just looked at me with his eye wide open before seemingly snapping himself out of the daze and shaking his head quickly from side to side.

Ciel "i umm... i..."

(Y/N) "no need to say anything more. Let's take this slowly."

Ciel "r-right! Yes. Well... i should go back, there's more work i have to do."

(Y/N) "oh come on! It's a beautiful day! Let's take a walk around the manor."

I extended a hand out to him. Ciel looked at it for a few seconds before slowly locking his fingers with mine. We went out the greenhouse and began just wandering around Ciel's estate hand-in-hand in blissful serenity.

At some point during our little walk, we stumbled upon Sebastian watering a rose bush.

Sebastian "ah good morning young masters! And what do we have here? Hand-in-hand enjoying a stroll?"

Ciel blushed and looked away with an embarrassed 'shut up...' while i just smiled brightly at Sebastian.

(Y/N) "good morning to you too Sebastian! Don't mind us, just enjoying our day."

Sebastian "of course, Lord Adelai. Please do go on, and if you'll excuse me i have to start preparing the ingredients for lunch."

Sebastian bowed and walked away from us. I looked at Ciel who's still avoiding my gaze and is radiating heat. Along with looking like an emo tomato.

Ciel "ugh! That damned demon is now going to mock me about this..."

Jokingly, i said:

(Y/N) "if you're not comfortable we could sto-"

Ciel "no no! Please! Just give me some time to adjust! This is still all new to me..."

I laughed at Ciel's sudden panic.

(Y/N) "i was joking, Ciel! Come on, have some faith in me."

Ciel "ah right. Sorry..."

This is something i've noticed for quite some time is that Ciel isn't as strict or hard with me as he is with everyone else. He shows this more vulnerable side from time to time. I feel strangely happy that Ciel can just let his guard down when it's just me and him...

It makes me feel all warm and happy! Im interested in seeing where this'll go...

Yaaay finally they confessed! Just as a slight reminder, Ciel is 15 years old and the reader is 13. For those who don't like that, why the hell are you in chapter 18? If any of you want to start screaming "You can't ship them, they're minors!" Then shove it. But for those who have enjoyed the story, i thank you.

The rest of the story should be a bit more light-hearted and focus on how Ciel and (Y/N) are going about their new relationship along with some other ships on the side.
