So what if I told you my life's been defined by hatred since it's inception? From the very beginning I was always compared to the so called legends of the past. Of course growing up under such pressure made me hate these old myths with a burning passion, specifically the golden hero Tatsumi.
---
Eight centuries ago he left our village and ventured into the Capital. As unlikely as it may sound, Tatsumi was an excellent fighter, his journey eventually led to his fateful meeting with the now legendary guild of assassins known as Night raid.
Back then, the Capital was drenched in corruption.
But thanks to Tatsumi and Night raid, we haven't had to deal with corruption for a long time.
The guy was definitely a great hero.
However every minute of every day the elders of my village kept comparing me and my brother to him as if we weren't good enough.
My brother, Akalian, left the village and went to the Capital due to this.
Now four years later, I finally turned eighteen and according to the laws used in the new Capital, I'm free to decide my own fate.
So I followed my brother's footsteps.
Why? Well I don't really know the answer.
A wise man once said "life is what happens while you're busy making other plans."
In light of that, I decided to just go without even giving myself a good enough reason to leave the comfort of my village.
God knows I wonder if I made the right decision...
"Akaro! Get your lazy ass up we got another delivery."
I slowly open my eyes only to be greeted by the darkness of my room and sounds of someone practically kicking down my door.
"Geez give me a break Leon."
I force myself out of my bed and up on my feet.
As always my room was filled with trash and empty boxes from old deliveries. Barely any light managed to find it's way in due to my tick black curtains. Taking slow steps towards the wooden door, I grab hold of it's handle.
Unsurprisingly, as soon as I step outside I find Leon waiting for me with his serious face, something he's not really known for.
His expression actually showed hints of sadness which brought a certain uneasy feeling to our morning meet up.
"Wasn't today was my day off work?"
I ask as I calmly strech my arms and legs.
"Well you wanna get paid don't you? Get to work."
With his yellow gaze now fixated on me, Leon looked like he was about to punch me.
"Is something wrong boss?"
I ask.
Leon isn't usually one for violence, so this sudden change in attitude worries me.
