13. The Final Joke

Ivy's body lay on a bed of flowers under a tree. A rock that had been inscribed with words rather like a headstone lay nearby. In Ivy's hands was a small bouquet of flowers. Gathered around her was everyone but Y/n and Kite Man who had carried his unconscious body away.

"Harley, uh, a few words?" King Shark says as Harley steps forward but she can only tear up as she tries not to burst into tears.

"Let her grieve." Clayface says now as he steps forward.  "I've prepared a little something." He says clearing his throat. "We have gathered today to pay respects to our beloved friend. Her death was not an empty sacrifice. And, of my friend, I will say just this. Of all the souls I have met on my journeys, hers was the most... human." Clayface says.  

"Wow, that, uh... Wasn't awful." Psycho says surprised. 

"As apropos a speech now as when it was originally delivered by William Shatner's Captain James Tiberius Kirk in Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan." Clayface says. 

"Mmm-hmm. All right." Psycho says.

Sy moves forward in his chair now as a digger appears from it and begins to dig a large hold in the ground in front to the inscribed rock. 

Frank begins to cry now. "Who's gonna water my roots? I don't trust any of these assholes." He cries.

"You'll be missed." Dr Psycho says sincerely as he uses his powers now to gently lift Ivy's body and lower her into the freshly dug hole. He then uses his powers to carefully cover her body in the soil finally returning her to the earth as Harley's tears fall now.  

Frank looks at headstone now as he reads it's inscription that read. 'Here lies Pamela Isley, A dear friend.' "She's a doctor, damn it! Who chiselled this shit?" He asks annoyed as he picks up a chisel from the ground. Dr Psycho uses his powers again now as he use the chisel to add the word 'Dr' in front of Ivy's name.

Harley kneels down as she puts her hand down on Ivy's headstone. Her eyes narrow as she turns around to look at Joker's tower which loomed above them in the background. She screams angrily now as she gets up and starts to run in the direction of the tower." 

Everyone watches until Dr Psycho uses his powers once again this time to lift Harley up from her spot and stop her. "No, no, no." Psycho says.

"What're ya..." Harley starts to asks until she is pulled back to the other. "What are you doin'?" She asks angrily.  

"He doesn't want you to follow Ivy to the grave." Clayface says. 

"So that's it? We're just supposed to sit here twiddling our thumbs?" Harley asks as she remains suspended in the air. 

"Well, unless you got some kind of actual plan, I say yes." Dr Psycho says. 

"Yes. I got one." Harley now as and Psycho drops her. 

"Ooh, does it involve indiscriminate smashing of other people's property?" King Shark asks.

"No." Harley answers. 

"Aw!" King Shark sighs disappointed. 

"When no one believed in me, Y/n and Ivy did. Now she's gone and Y/n might die. Ivy always wanted me to get rid of this asshole, so that's what I'm gonna do." Harley says to them all. 

"Still not a plan." Psycho comments. 

"I'm workin' on one." Harley says back. 

Kite man appears out of breath as he runs up to the group now. "Hey gang..." He breaths. "We...uh...we got a problem." He says as everyone looks at him.
