School

Billie parked in front of school and said, "Have a good day." "See you later," I said before I got out of her car and walked into the building.

I hated school. People didn't like me for some reason. I was known as the quiet kid who would be the one to shoot up the school one day. All I did was go to the back of the classroom and keep my mouth shut.

I heard the 1st lunch bell ring which mean't it was my turn to go get lunch. I didn't eat often, nor did I have friends, so I just went into the bathroom stall and wrote in my diary.

Dear Diary,

School fucking sucks. I hate it. There's nothing enjoyable about this shitty place. Oh, I forgot to tell you that Billie and I kissed. I don't know if it mean't anything to her. I hope it did-

I flinched and shut my diary when I heard someone bang on the stall door. "Aurora, we know you're in there," I heard a girl say. The girl's name was Lauren. She's like my tormentor. She finds joy in beating the shit out of me mentally, and physically.

I shoved my diary into my backpack and, being the dumbass I am, I opened the stall door. Lauren, and her group of friends, immediately tried to take my backpack off me as soon as I stepped out of the stall.

I pushed them back, trying to defend myself, but accidentally ended up punching Lauren's friend in the nose. The girls froze. Lauren turned to look at me before I saw her fist connect with my face and everything went black.

I woke on the ground in the bathroom. I felt dizzy, but not a nauseous kind of dizzy. It was more like dizzy because I stood up too fast. I grabbed my backpack and looked in the mirror. I had a black eye. Fuck. I flipped my hoodie over my head and walked into the hallway.

I glanced at the clock and realized I was only out for about 10 minutes. I walked to my next class and sat down in the back of the classroom.

I made it through the day and nobody noticed my black eye, thankfully. I mean I don't know who would've noticed anyway because 99%, if not 100%, of the kids in my school don't even know I exist. I got a text from Billie.

Billie
I'm here to pick you up.

Me
Ok.

I walked outside and saw Billie's car. I, still, walked with my head down because I didn't want her to notice my eye. I got into the car, not looking at her, and said "Hey." "Hey, how was your day," she asked. "Good," I quickly responded. She started to drive down the road and towards my house, which was only about 5 minutes away. The whole car ride was silent. I didn't even look at her.

We pulled up to my house and I walked inside ahead of her. We got into my room and she asked "Are you ok?" "Yeah, I'm fine," I remarked. "Take your hood off," she ordered. I reluctantly took my hood off and looked at her, without making eye contact. "Holy shit, Aurora. What happened," she asked. Billie put her hand on my face and softly rubbed her thumb over my cheek. "Nothing, I just fell and got embarrassed," I lied.

"I'm going to go get some ice." Billie left my room and came back about 30 seconds later with a cloth in her hand. "I couldn't find ice," she said as she sat down on my bed next to me. I looked at her as she softly patted the cold, damp cloth on my eye. She took the cloth off and just looked into my eyes.

Billie placed her hand on my cheek and moved closer to me. I closed my eyes and I soon felt her soft, plump lips on mine. I fell back onto my bed and she followed along, staying on top of me. Billie placed her hand, under my shirt, on my hip.

Her hand traveled up my shirt while she kept her lips connected with mine, but she jumped off of me when we heard my mom exclaim "Aurora, I'm home!" Billie and I both sat up.

My mom walked into my room and said "Hey, girls. Honey, what happened to your eye?" "Oh, I fell into someone at school," I told her. "Do you want any ice," she asked. "No, I'm fine for now," I responded. "Ok, I'm going to go start dinner," my mom said as she walked out of my room.

"I should probably get going," Billie said as she stood up. "Wait," I said before Billie turned around to look at me. "What are we?" Billie smiled and sat back down on my bed. "I mean...if you wanted we could become-." I cut her off and exclaimed, "Yes," before I leaned in to quickly kiss her.
