As Jerry lied there on the floor, losing blood every second, he couldn't help but to think of what would happen if he died. His kids fatherless and his wife a widow? What would they do without him? Suddenly, the lights came on. Jerry looked up to see his boss staring down at him with sorrowful eyes.
He was talking to someone on his cell phone, "Yes, please come... yes, bring it... yes right now! He's dying!!!"
Half an hour later, 2 ambulances from Metro Health came to the Jenison Meijer. A man in a white lab coat and a woman in a nurse's uniform came out of each one and rushed a gurney through the doors on each side of the store. They found all of the Meijer employees huddled around Jerry.
One of the nurses yelled, "Move out of the way!" and the employees cleared a path for the gurneys.
Everyone watched as the nurses picked Jerry up and placed him on the gurney, leaving a large pool of blood on the ground.
As the nurses wheeled Jerry out, the boss yelled from the top of the stairs, "Yo, Carl! Clean up the blood!"
