Christopher
"Thanks for the ride and the drink." Delaney said once we stepped off the elevator. "Yeah, no problem. It was nice getting to know you a little more." I replied with a small smile as we stopped in front of my apartment. "Yeah, you too." She smiled before walking down to her own apartment.
When I got in, I dropped my bag by the door and too my ringing phone out from my pocket. "Hello?" I answer hitting the accept button before hearing my sister's voice in the other end of the line. "Are you home?" She asked. "Yeah, just got in. Why?" I reply. "Mom's got a night shift at the hospital and dad's stuck at the fire house until 7am. I don't really feel like being home alone all night while it's storming outside." Morgan said.
"Want me to come pick you up?" I asked. "No, it's okay. When you weren't answering your texts, I texted Riley to see if you were with him and he told me you had stayed after practice to work on some stuff. Then he asked me why I was looking for you and if everything was okay so I told him and he said that he would pick me up and bring me over to your place cause you guys were going to hangout tonight anyways." Morgan replied before falling silent again.
Riley is like a second older brother to Morgan. When I first introduced them, he told her that he had two sisters of his own. One older and one younger. So whenever Morgs can't get a hold of me, she texts Riles whenever she needs one of us.
"Okay, not a problem, make sure you text mom and dad that you're staying at my place tonight." I say while walking down the hall to my room. "Already done." She replied. "I'll see you in a bit Alright?" I say grabbing a fresh pair of sweats and a long sleeve Marlies shirt from my closet. "If you get here and I don't answer the door, it's because I'm in the shower. Just use the key I gave you." I say walking into my master bathroom. "Okay. I'll see you soon Chris. Love you big bro." She says.
"Love you to Morgs." I say before hanging up.
I turned the shower on and placed my fresh pair of folded clothes on the counter before discarding my soggy ones t wore to the rink before hopping into the steaming hot shower to warm up from the cold and rainy afternoon.

After a good 10 minutes, I turned the water off and grabbed the towel that was hung up near the wall. I ran it over my head a couple times in attempt to soak up some of the water before wrapping it around my waist and stepping out of the shower. I quickly got changed into my fresh pair of sweats before throwing the shirt over my head."Chris, we're here!" I hear Riley call out through the apartment. Perfect timing! "I'll be out in a minute!" I shout back in reply combing my hair back and making sure that no baby hairs were sticking out.
"Hey guys." I smile appearing in the living room to see Riley sitting on the end of the couch while Morgan's still at the door with her backpack in hand and taking off her shoes. "Hey." They both reply.
"So how much longer did you stay on the ice for after I left you there?" Riley asked. "About maybe 5 to 10 extra minutes." I replied sitting down on the other end of the couch.
"Then why weren't you answering your phone when I texted you earlier?" Morgan asked plopping down on the chair that sat across from the couch. "Something came up and to be fair I was also driving and everyone knows you don't text and drive Morg!" I reply.
"Do you mind sharing what that something was?" Riley asked raising an eyebrow as I look between him and Morgan who were both giving me a look. I swallow the breath I didn't know I was holding before I reply. "Well I'm... when I was leaving the rink, I uh- I saw Delaney standing outside pacing back and forth. So I went up to her and asked her if everything was okay and she told me everything was fine, she was just waiting for her brother to come pick her up. Then it got windy and drops of rain started falling and her brother texted saying he was running later because there was an accident and he was stuck in traffic." I say as they both stare at me.
"Okay so what did you do after that? Don't tell me you were going to leave her there to wait in the rain for her brother!" Morgan exclaimed. "Morg, there's no way I'd do that! I'm not that big of a dick!" I replied as both her and Riley look at me. "That's debatable." She jokes.
"Anyways back to my story! So I offered her a ride home since we live in the same building and on the same floor." I said before my sister interrupts. "Wait a minute! Delaney lives in the same apartment building and on the same floor as you?" She asked with raised eyebrows. "Yeah, she lives with her brother. Now can I please finish my story!" I exclaim as she nodded and Riley turned his head to look over at her.
"Yeah Morgie, let the guy finish his story! We need to know why it took him so long to answer his damn phone!" Riley replied with a grin on his face.
"So as I was saying... I drove her home but I didn't answer my phone because yes I was driving but then I got hungry so I asked her if she wanted to stop and get a bite to eat. She said sure then we stopped at that coffee shop we always go to and we sat down in a booth."
"Oouu Chrissy went on a date and didn't even know it!" Morgan said teasingly as she wiggled her eyebrows. "Did not!" I reply.
"I simply just sat there drinking my coffee getting to know her some more." I said as Riley looked at me. "Mmhmm." He said.
I ignored the comment and stood up before beginning to make my way to the kitchen to grab a drink. "You guys want anything?" I asked looking over my shoulder. "Gatorade please!" Morgan calls out. "Riley?" I ask. "Nah man, I'm good. But just tell us this one thing..." he replied and I know exactly what he's going to say next.
"Now what?" I asked popping my head in the fridge to grab two bottles of Gatorade. "Are you starting to like Delaney? Like more than just a teammate and a friend?" Riley asked. I take a couple seconds to gather my thoughts while closing the fridge.
"Why are you asking me that man? You know I'm just doing as promised and giving her a shot. I'm doing my captain duties and following her request to be pictured as on of the boys." I reply as I hand Morgan her orange Gatorade.
"Okay but isn't it a little funny how you've been running into her a lot recently? And when you tell us about your encounters your cheeks go red buddy." Riley replies.
Shit! He caught me! He knows I'm starting to fall for this girl!
"Haha Chris just got busted!" Morgan exclaimed with a big smile on her face as I stood there silently while she high fives Riles.
"I knew we'd get it out of you eventually Tiago!" Riley grinned.
I love these two with all my heart but the sneaky little fuckers! They had this all planned out and they got it out of me.
