Chapter I

Meg's POV

I still can't get over of what happened earlier. I feel lost. I was left dumbfounded, shocked, and surprised when he gave me his special gift. And now I realize, yeah, he's different. Soo different.

*flashback*

"..tapos alam mo babe, si Zach binigyan nya ko ng life size teddy be-"

"Let's break up." he said. Without looking at me. Natawa ko.
"Part ba to ng surprise mo? Hahahaha. Babe, you don't have to do this." I said.
"Meg, please. Don't make this hard. Ayoko na."
"Vash...." I said. "Naiiyak na ko tangina umayos ka naman."
"Meg, I'm sorry. Be happy okay? Happy Birthday."

And there, he left me with his gift. His special surprise gift.

Three years. Three perfect years, ruined by 6 words? Hahaha. With matching 'happy birthday' pa. Hah.

"Meg-I'm-sorry. Be-happy-okay?" Naiiyak kong binilang sa kamay ko bawat word.

Wow. Just wow. Andaming araw Vash. Ngayon mo pa ko binusted. Tapos may gana ka pang sabihan ako ng 'be happy'? Fck you. Ang sakit pala.

At last, nakarating din ako sa dorm. I wanna sleep. Pakiramdam ko pagod na pagod ako. Haaay. I open the door, ang dilim. Bat kaya.

"Aya..." Tawag ko. She's my dormmate slash bestfriend slash sisteret. We've been together since elementary. 3pm na wala pa sya. Nauna pa yun umuwi ah. I tapped the switch.

"Happy Birthday Meg--" they all said in chorus. I was shocked. Sila rin.

"Meg! Ano ngyare? Umiiyak ka?" Si Aya. Nilapitan nya ko with a worried face.

"Si Vash," I tearfully said. "..he broke up with me." And there I burst into tears. Hindi ko padin maimagine kung pano nalang biglang wala na kami.

"Hey Meg, calm down, it's your birthday. Come, sit here. Pagusapan natin."

I sat down. Trying to calm myself from crying. Took a deep breath and started talking. I told them what happened.

"Uhhhm, maybe he have a reason?" Dine said. She's my blockmate and my friend.

"And what's that effin reason naman, ha?" Si Jade. Aww. She's always concern about me.

"Maybe he have to do this for the sake of Meg." - Dine.

"Psh, for the sake of Meg or for the sake of his own?" Jade said.

"Alam nyo di kayo nakakatulong sa pagmomove-on ni Meg ha. Manihimik na lang kayo. Saka Meg, it's your special day. Don't make that unworthy guy ruin your day. You're precious okay? Smile." Calyx told me. He's Aya's boy. He's so nice to me like he's my brother and to our friends and a perfect boyfie for Aya.

"Oo ngaa! Let's partyyyyyy! :'>" Si Matt. "Happy birthday Meg." he continued then handed me his gift.

"Thanks Matt," I said then I look at them, "thanks guys, siguro kung wala kayo dto nag-suicide na ko."

"Grabihan lang tayo Meg? Suicide talaga?" Si Jade.

"Hahaha, Oo nga Meg, don't do that ha? I'm here for you. We're here for you. Sabihin mo sakin pag nalulungkot ka. I'll do everything to make you happy." Aya said.

"Yes Aya, thank you. Thank you guys. I owe you a lot." I said. I handed the glass and pour it with wine. "Cheers for a new life?" I said.

"Cheers!" They all said in chorus.

For a new life? Hahaha. I don't think so.

Past 12 na. Tipsy na din sila Aya. Sila Jade naman pati Dine nakatulog na.

"Aya, pahangin lang ako sa labas ha." I said.

"Shige. Balik agad Meg." Tipsy nyang sabi sakin. Hahaha. Ang cute ni Aya!

Naglakad lakad ako sa labas ng mapadpad ako sa playground. I sat on the swing. Dito kami lagi ni Vash pag ayaw namin sa dorm kasi ginugulo kami ni Aya pati ni Calyx pag nagcocompose kami ng kanta.

"Vash... *sighs bakit? Okay naman tayo ah? Kahapon lang sabi mo sakin hindi mo ko iiwan. Na ipaglalaban mo ako. Asan kana? Bakit mo ako iniwan?" I said. Crying.

"Babe, ang sakit sakit na." *sobs *sobs

I was about to go when suddenly a guy handed me his handkerchief.

"Zach...."

"Okay lang sakin, iiyak mo lang." He said.

A moment of silence.

"Zach bakit? Ano ba ginawa ko?...." He remain silent. Waiting for me to continue. "Zach sabhin mo naman sa bestfriend mo balikan na nya ko oh." I'm so weak. And pathetic looser. A pity girl who is begging to win him back.

"Meg, I'm sorry." The only words he said.

I took a deep breath. "Yeah, I know. He's YOUR bestfriend. Sya padin kakampihan mo no matter what. Don't worry Zach, kaya ko to. Kayang-kaya ko." I sarcasticaly said.

"Meg....." Di ko alam kung anong tumatakbo sa utak ni Vash ngayon. Di man kita matulungan balikan si Vash, But one thing I can assure you...

Di ako mawawala, Meg."
