Lexi and Sam (W/Sara)
•••••
A/N: I've been racking my brain for ideas on how to include Sara in a one shot. Since we all loved her and Lexi's mother-daughter relationship throughout MTTM. I finally came upon a little idea to include her after Sam and Lexi get together in Night of Neglect. Not sure how I feel about this, but enjoy! Also, a quick thank you to OneandOnlyElla for suggesting a one shot with Sara!Lexi was still in disbelief that her huge but heartfelt love confession had worked. It was a relief to have everything out there, and to finally have the love reciprocated. She was on cloud nine, and so was Sam. Both of them were still processing the moment that he had forgotten about asking the most important question.
Lexi smiled, keeping her arms draped around Sam's neck, as he stared down at her, leaning his forehead against hers, while he kept his arms around her waist. He held on firmly, afraid of letting go.
"I guess, what I want to ask now is, will you, Lexi Torres, finally be my girlfriend?" Sam finally asked, breaking the silence.
At that question, Lexi's face lit up. That was the question, that she had been dying to be asked. Aside from hearing Sam tell her he loved her in return. She was still in shock from the whole thing, but finally snapping out of her trance, she nodded. "Yes. Yes, of course. I'd love to be your girlfriend, Sam Evans." She replied, as Sam smiled, leaning down and capturing her lips in his.
The couple stood there, diving into each other, not even breaking to look at their friends, who walked out of the school. Some of them were cheering, while the others shared knowing looks. What did break them out of their moment was Sara calling Lexi's name from the vehicle.
"Lexi, come on! We have a movie night tonight!" Sara called, as Lexi smiled, breaking the kiss. She pulled her face away from Sam's to see her mom waving at her.
"I'm coming!" Lexi assured her mom.
"I should let you go now." Sam chuckled, as Lexi shook her head.
"No." Lexi smiled, intertwining her hand with Sam's. "You can come and hangout with us. My mom will understand, and she's going to be a little overexcited, so just, go along with it."
"Alright, alright, alright." Sam commented, using his well known impression, as Lexi giggled, pulling him with her towards her mom's vehicle.
Once they got to the vehicle, Sara gasped, a smile gracing her face as she saw who her daughter was with. She was quick to approach the two, trying to contain her excitement. She had known how badly Lexi had tried to say the three simple, but meaningful words, and it looked like it was a success.
"And who's this gentleman?" Sara asked.
"You know him, mom." Lexi groaned quietly, as Sam chuckled again, at his girlfriend's humiliated expression.
"Of course I do, but that doesn't mean I don't get to tease you." Sara sent her a mischievous smile.
"Oh no...no, no, no." Lexi shook her head. "I won't allow that."
"Sorry, it's safe to say I'm the biggest shipper of Slexie, or whatever your ship name is." Sara replied, as both Lexi and Sam blushed, exchanging looks.
"We haven't even gotten to a ship name. We just became official, like ten minutes ago." Lexi pointed out, as Sara shrugged.
"Well, now you have one." Sara answered, unbothered by how red her daughter's cheeks were.
"Okay, mom." Lexi interjected, before her mom could go anymore crazy about the news. "I'm bringing Sam over for a movie night, and studying, if that is okay with you."
"It's more than okay." Sara nodded, turning to Sam. "I can finally welcome you to the family now, Sam."
"Thanks, Ms. Torres." Sam replied.
"Please, call me, Sara." She waved him off.
"All right then." Sam smiled, as Lexi opened the back door and got in. She smiled when Sam got in beside her. "Your mom is a little crazy." He whispered, as she giggled.
"I am so sorry for her." Lexi apologized, with a roll of her eyes. "I wish I could stress that I don't know her, but I do. I surely pretend I don't, when I catch her singing in public in the frozen food aisle." She added, as Sam laughed quietly.
"Oh this is so exciting!" Sara clapped, as she got into the driver's seat. "Think of all the dates, the engagement, and the wedding. I can't wait for all of that, and the day I become a grandma."
"Mom!" Lexi gasped, as Sam smiled fondly, with a shake of his head.
"You can't blame her." He shrugged, pulling Lexi closer to him, as she leaned her head against his shoulder, while he kept their hands intertwined.
"You're getting ahead of yourself." Lexi pointed out.
"Can't be afraid to manifest it." Sara winked in the rear-view mirror, as she drove out of the school parking lot. "I have a feeling though that it's going to happen. There's no doubt."
"Well then, maybe it will." Lexi said quietly, smiling up at Sam, who smiled back down at her. She giggled when he pressed a kiss to her head, and held her in his arms.
Both of them had only started dating, but now that Sara had mentioned it, they started thinking about the bigger picture. They started to think about the next chapter. They could see the day they would get engaged, the day they would get married, and the day they'd hold their first born kid. All Lexi wanted, aside from love, and a career, was to be a mom. And now, she was a little closer to that dream coming true one day.
The couple could only choose to believe that Sara was right. If all turned out well, maybe they'd be married and have a kid in the next decade. They could only hope, right?
