The Confession of The Heart (part 2)

Arnold was driving home late tonight from Mama Rosa's house. He declined the offer for him to sleep there. He was bothered about Frank. In all, 9 years of them together Arnold has had a string of men he watched out for. Those vultures circling his woman. Marita was always professional and kind to all of them and never crossing her line. So, he made it his job to ward off those vultures. However, none has the effect on him as Frank. Arnold tried to brush it aside as jittery feeling pre-wedding day.

He focused on Marita and reminded himself of how faithful she is. Marita has her eyes only to him and him alone. She tells him and shows him that there's only him in her life. Unlike Marita, Arnold has had several affairs. None of them are serious. But Affairs nonetheless.

Adinia, his first secretary when his company first took off. They had a fling for almost a year before Diah sniffed it and confronted him. That bloodhound nose of her immediatelly sniffed something was wrong. Anyway, He talked to Adinia and let her go before Diah absolutely go balistic on him. Diah strictly asked him to end it and she will not tell a soul about it. Adinia is now working in a Bank. Good for her but he is no longer in contact with her. Then there's Nindy, the overseas partner. This was a short one. Long Distance relationship was not ideal. They parted ways just like that. Then came Meiske, the daughter of Mama Rosa's house helper. This was almost serious if only mama rosa didn't found out about it. She was furious and almost kill him on the spot. Meiske was banished and for some time, Mama Rosa put a spy on him and Meiske making sure that they did not contact each other. Through all of this, He and all the people who knew made sure that Marita didn't know. Arnold rubbed his forehead, his head was spinning a little for the lack of sleep and the demand to concentrate on the roal. Arnold realized that, he loves Marita. Strange but true. Despite and inspite of his flings, it is Marita that he loves and wants to protect. He never wants to hurt her. But on the other hand, he wanted to test how strong his love is. To him, always going back to that one person is the mark of how big their love is.

At the red light, Arnold saw the billboard with travelling ads on it. There was a picture of changi airport. The changi airport reminded him of.....

Jessica...

Yes, Marita's friend and colleague, Jessica. This was his last fling and perhaps the most dangerous. This one almost cost him his relationship with Marita. Not because he fell in love or anything to Jessica. But he was constantly anxious that Marita will find out. Diah can always detect a subtle change in the chemistry of people and she will not hesitate to confront you first hand. Gosh... that Diah should have been a detective or a psychological criminal profiler or something. Anyway, Jessica was more beautiful and sexier than Marita. Arnold had a crush on her too long time ago. But put it aside because he was building a relationship with Marita. Then, his company contracted Marita's company for interpreter for his negotiation in Norway. Marita was abroad in New York on UN General Assembly as the interpreter. And the next person available was Jessica. Long story short, their trip was no longer a business trip but a romantic one.

Returning from the trip, Jessica was uneasy and she knew they were in the wrong. She felt guilty and cannot face her long-time friend who was completely oblivious to what happen. She made the conscious decision to end their fling. She decided to work at her father's company on Singapore to get away from it all.

Arnold scratched his head. Some part of him thinks that he is an asshole. But most part of him called this just the usual manly adventure. A man must test the strength of his love. A man is allowed to sample some women before deciding which one he wants.
