I didn't go back to the Salvatores with Damon and Stefan when they found out that Elena was safe, instead I went to Caroline's when she text me telling me to come over ASAP, that she compelled Matt to forget all that he found out.

I was walking down the street looking at the message Damon sent me telling me that not only did Elena get home safe - like I expected but Bonnie also got her powers back, that the spell worked and she channelled all those witches. I wasn't far from Caroline's when I bumped into Matt who I tried my utter hardest not to scowl at knowing that Caroline had made him forget.

"Matt." I said swiftly, we hadn't really spoken much, only really when I first came to the town and during school. We got along well considering all that happened but with the knowledge that he hurt Caroline I wasn't his biggest fan at the moment.

"Nia, hi. You going to see Caroline?" I don't think she told him about me and even if she did he had forgotten now, right? From the way he didn't flinch away from me I'd take a guess that the compulsion worked.

"Yeah I am, she asked me to visit, are you just leaving?" He nodded his head making me nod mine and bid him a goodbye, something was off about him but I pushed it aside knowing that Caroline was waiting for me.

When I got to hers I opened the door and walked in to find Caroline sitting on the couch crying, I rushed over and sat down next to her, from the second I placed my hand on her shoulder she immediately turned and hugged me, crying into my shoulder and for some reason I didn't feel the need to push her off.

"Care?" I asked softly, "what happened?" She looked up at me with a red and tear streaked face before burying her face into my shoulder again.

I could just make out what she was saying, "I made him forget, he hated me some much after I told him everything, he called me a monster and maybe he's right." I flinched slightly at her words making me take ahold of her shoulders and push her to face me.

"No. Don't listen to him Care, you deserve better than him." I spoke lowly. Her tears had stopped momentarily making her just sadly looking at me, "but how-" I cut her off, "I used to know a man, before I came to mystic falls Care, years ago he told me something that honestly I should've been told centuries ago; just because we are predators, doesn't mean we have to be monsters and killers. Caroline Forbes you are neither a monster or a killer purely for being a vampire."

She gave me a soft smile before drying her cheeks, "your friend sounds smart." She mumbled making me scoff, "trust me that was the only smart thing he's ever said, stupid Hale." I said before standing up and walking to Caroline kitchen and going to her fridge where I knew her wine was.
