I was stuck setting up the table with Jenna and Andy, not the best duo to keep me company but company nonetheless. I placed down plates as the two human females spoke to each other, not saying a thing or listening into the conversation.
I didn't care, what I did care about what this plan that Damon had and wasn't telling me, mainly cause I felt like it had something to do with daggering my brother. I also knew that John had missed out a small critical detail, Damon would die if he daggered Elijah, the only reason Nik could do it and not die was because, well... he can't die unless it's at the hands of the white oak stake, for now.
Nik once told me that it did hurt him to dagger his family, and there was a time I did believe him but now I look back on the memory with a scoff, clearly it didn't hurt him enough to keep the coffins full of his dead family, instead he sunk them at sea.
I finished expertly folding the stupid napkins and sighed, looking up at the other two women in the room to hear Andy say something about trust and relationships making me roll my eyes at the topic. Love doesn't stick around when your a millennia old.
Andy had left the room as Alaric came in, not a minute later the bell went off and Jenna said she'd go get it, imagine not only my surprise but everyone else's when none other than John Gilbert walks into the house, "who invited him?" Jenna asks annoyed.
I walk up to him beside Damon, "John, surprise." Damon begins. "Leave." I finish off pointing at the door with a smile.
"When Jenna told me she was coming to a dinner party for Elijah, I decided I couldn't miss out on all the fun and games." John said as he looked around, Jenna walking right past him in annoyance, like a child would.
"There are not going to be any games tonight John, it's just a friendly dinner party." Alaric spoke from where he stood, I looked at him from where I stood and cleared my throat, "you're also, not- uh welcome so..." I spoke while motioning to the door once again.
As it turns out John didn't care when he was faced with immortal creatures, he did as he wanted so when he wanted to stay... you can see the issue.
Around ten minutes later into the night I was dragged to the door by Damon, opening it to reveal Elijah in his usual get up, not that much different from what I wore but instead I wore a navy blue jacket dress with a white undershirt, fishnets, a belt around my waist, black heeled boots and some accessories and jewellery additions, whereas my brother wore a classic three-piece navy suit.
"Good evening." He greeted us both, Damon trying to warm up to the original greeted him back with a smile and a; "thank you for coming." After inviting Elijah inside, he stopped us both, "just one moment," he said before looking directly at Damon, "can I just say that, if you have uh- less that honourable intentions about how this evening is going to proceed I suggest you reconsider." I sigh at his words, even after Damon told him that he had no dishonourable intentions- I still felt that he did and for that reason alone I was not trusting him tonight.
