Maya groaned slowly waking up realizing she and Josh fell asleep. Hearing her cellphone ring she got up immediately grabbing it.
"Maya Hunter, where the hell are you?!"
Immediately recognizing her father's voice she looked at the microwave revealing the time to be 7:30. She exhaled as she looked over to the couch seeing Josh still fast asleep.
"I'm at Josh's. Something happened and I just had to make sure he was okay. Sorry I didn't call," Maya said trying to make something up.
"It's okay. Is he okay tho?"
"He's fine, Dad. I'll be home soon. Bye," Maya said ending the call as she exhaled.
She smiled as she looked at the teenage guy she fell in love with once feeling so deeply in love but now she was so afraid of what could happen. Exhaling she quickly cleaned a little up as she saw how he was beginning to move opening his eyes.
"Hey. I have to get home soon. Dad already called. Want me to prepare something to eat?" Maya asked as Josh sat up shaking his head.
"No I'm fine. Can we talk quickly before you leave?" Josh asked as Maya sat down next to him.
"Yeah sure. What's going on?" Maya asked.
"How are you feeling?" Josh asked as Maya exhaled looking at him.
"Josh, I'm not miraculously going to feel better just because you said a few sweet words. And I wish that it was as simple as that because I hate thinking that I'm feeling this way while still being so deeply in love with you. And I wish I could program my mind to think differently but I can't," Maya said as Josh looked at her.
Seeing as his face expression faded she gently cupped his cheek. Exhaling she didn't know what to say. She leaned forward planting a soft kiss on his lips as he threw his arms around her body pulling her in closer.
"I love you, Maya. And I want to give you the world," Josh said as Maya smiled not thinking she would ever hear those words.
"I love you too. And you're already giving me the world and even more. I want you to know I've never felt safer that here with you. And I wish with all my heart that I can take that feeling and feel it the whole time. But it's just more reason for me to come here every day. Now I really have to go," Maya said as Josh placed a soft kiss on her lips pulling her closer.
"See you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow. Bye," Maya said.
