Maya exhaled as she and Josh were at an early morning doctor appointment for the baby before Maya had to get to school. She was of course extremely nervous about this appointment since the last time that Katy had this appointment with her it was everything but good.
"It's all looking good. Maya, your pregnancy is one of the most healthiest pregnancies I've seen in a long time," the doctor said as Maya had smiled while looking how Josh's face lighted up as he saw the ultrasound.
"You know around this time most pregnant women can tell what the gender is of the little baby. Do you want to know?" she asked as Maya looked at Josh.
"It's your call, Maya," Josh said as Maya smiled.
"Yes. We would like to know," Maya said as Josh pulled his chair closer to the bed.
Looking at the ultrasound both Maya and Josh had looked at it wondering what would become of their lives after all of this. Of course both of them have been extremely lucky to have each other and to think a little baby boy or girl would complete their family was insane.
"It's a girl," she said as Maya looked at her.
"Girl? We're having a girl?" Josh asked as Maya smiled.
"We are. I love you," Maya said.
"Love you too. What a wonderful birthday surprise," Josh said.
