"Isn't this so awesome?" Zoe asked. I nodded.

The seven of us sat in silence for a few minutes. Suddenly Zoe perked up. "Let's play Truth or Dare!"

Everyone nodded, eager for something to do. Well, everyone except Erica, who shrugged and grumbled something that sounded like, "Oh, fine."

"I'll go first. Ben, truth or dare?" Zoe asked.

"Truth."

"Do you like Erica?"

I was suddenly aware of everyone's eyes on me. I could feel my face heating up. I nodded. Then Zoe said, "Actually, let's play Infinity Questions. Animal version."

With a pang, I thought of my older sister, Miriam, who loved to play the animal version of Infinity Questions. I nodded.

Zoe thought for a moment. "Okay, I've got it."

"Is it a mammal?"

"No."

"Is it a reptile?"

"No."

"Is it a bird?"

"Yes."

"Is it a bird of prey?"

"Yes."

"How big is it?"

"Less than a foot tall."

Everyone was stumped. A bird of prey that was less that a foot long? But I suddenly remembered something Miriam had taught me.

"Is it a kestrel?" I asked.

"Yes!" Said Zoe.

I thought. Animals flashed past. I decided on a quokka. (Google it.)

We played until the plane landed.
