Think I'll accept you now?

Chap. 4

When I woke up I was laying by a small fire cover with the small blanket I had packed in my duffle bag. I held the blanket to me as I sat up and looked around. The three wolves were all sitting nearby watching me. The largest of the three stood up and stepped towards me. I yelped in fear and tried to change but the drugs still hadn’t worn off. When the wolf saw he was scaring me he backed away and looked at the smallest of the three. She was a beautiful speckled wolf with every shade of grey fluttering around in her fur. She nodded and then yelped something to the larger ones who then ran off towards the east. The speckled wolf bowed close to ground in a show of submission. She was telling me it was okay and that she wasn’t there to hurt me.

I flashed my perfected fake smile and the pup jumped up. She darted behind a tree and with a yelp came back as a human. She seemed perfectly at ease despite the fact that she was naked. She had short cropped brown hair and was fairly short. She was couldn’t have been more than 15 or 16. Not too much younger than myself. When she walked towards me she spoke in a voice so slight and quiet that I was barely able to hear it.

“Hello, I’m Karley from the Full Moon Pack.” She had slunk over to me and folded herself with little grace to sit in front on me. I had a feeling she wasn’t quite used to changing.

“I-I’m Amber.”

“Which pack do you belong to Amber?”

 This hit home and the tears ran down my face. “I-I-I don’t I don’t have one anymore.”

She let the subject drop and took my hand. “Where were you going?”

“I don’t know. I-I didn’t have a place in mind.”

“Well you are going to be feeling sick for a little while. That toxin will take a few days to completely run out of your system. How about you come and stay with me and my pack until then?”

“I-I don’t know I wouldn’t want to impose.”

“Oh non-sense. We don’t mind, besides Alpha Henry likes you. He thinks you could be great given time and a bit of training and he would know. He has sort of a sixth sense for these things. That’s how we found you. He could tell you were near and that you would probably need our help, but I think he just wanted to see ‘The Great Strength’ with his own two eyes. He has been talking about a great warrior coming to us. He told me this morning that he thought it would be today.”

She spoke to me with such a kind voice that I couldn’t help but say I would go with her.

“I’ll come but I highly doubt I am the great warrior your alpha was speaking of.”

“Oh you are Alpha was about to jump out of his skin when he saw you. He knew right away that you were the one.”

This made me smile. I wasn’t used to people being so nice to me. this peeked my curiosity and I couldn’t help but to bombard her with questions.

“Which wolf was the alpha? Who was the other one? Where is your pack home? Where are your territorial lines?” I would have continued but a quiet chuckle came from the other side of a fire and made me jump.

“Well it seems like you two are getting along well.” A large man with brown hair was standing there watching us. I had no idea how long he had been there but he held clothes in his hand, which he tossed to Karley. I had to admit, he was very fit and hot.

“There you go you little mutt,” he said this in a clearly picking tone. “Now I won’t have to hear the boys jab on about seeing you naked for the next week.” Then he turned towards me and smiled. “You will probably want to get dressed too. I’ll wait for you over there.” He gestured towards a large tree. “And then I’ll answer all the questions you want.”

I nodded and watched as he walked behind the tree. I quickly jumped up and dug through my bag. I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans and my ACDC shirt. I slipped them on as well as a pair of shoes. When both Karley and I were dressed we went over to the tree that the man was waiting behind. She signaled for me to walk quietly, but even as quiet as we were the man heard us approaching.

“I’ve told you a million times Karley, you aren’t as light on your feet as you think you are.” When we walked around the tree he was standing there waiting for us looking completely amused.

“Let’s get going. I’m sure Eli has told dad about our little friend by now and I expect he’ll be waiting for us.”

So we put out the fire and I grabbed my things and we set out on foot towards the east. I was extremely annoyed that I couldn’t simply shift and run so that we would get there faster. I couldn’t wait to see this new pack, but at the same time I was still weary and on my guard.

“So as for your questions.” He looked at me with his green-grey eyes and a slight smirk on his face that made me blush a little. “I am the alpha, and my name's Henry. I was the black wolf that scared you. I truly am sorry about that. I forgot that sometimes a large unfamiliar wolf can be scary.” I would have denied the fact that I had been frightened but he continue before I could. “Our pack house is about ten miles east of here. The dark grey wolf was my younger brother. He’s the shy one of us three. His name is Eli.”

“He’s my twinny! Don’t forget to tell her he’s my twinny.” Karley chimed in as she skipped along on the other side of me.               

He chuckled a musical laugh “I was getting to that your craziness.” Then he looked back at me and said in a mocking voice, “He’s also her twin.” This made Karley smile and she danced ahead of us again.

“And for your last question, I’ll have to show you sometime. If you want you should be able to change by now if you would rather run.”

I looked at my bag a little shy about how slow I already was not to mention that I would have to carry that thing.

“Of course I’ll carry your bag.”

So we all went behind separate trees and change. I had let them put their clothes in my bag so that they wouldn’t have to try to carry them.

Henry picked up the bag and we all took off. It wasn’t long at all when they began to pull ahead of me so they slowed their pace so that I didn’t have to run so hard. The ten miles took most of the day to cover but when the other stopped I felt a great relief. I stood there panting for a minute and Henry dropped the bag.

He and Karley ran off so that I could change.

“Okay guys, you can come and get your clothes now.” The wolves darted out, grabbed their clothes in there, and dashed back to their hiding places.

When we were all in human form and fully clothed we walked through the last few yards of trees and there it was...

So guyz, I didn't write this one, but my good friend XxXLunaRWolfXxX did. :) I'll be doing them from now on though. Thanks Scar!!!!
