Tomike sat all by herself as she watched the clock tik away. The sadness soaked in as she laid her head on the coffee brown pillow that was placed on the sofa she sat on.

She had been moved to another waiting room which was closer to the ICU where her son was.

They wouldn't let her inside the room but she was allowed to watch him through a transparent glass. He was connected to so many tubes, his left leg and head wrapped in bandages. She couldn't recognise her Dayo. He looked beat up, with bad blood and cuts on his face and legs. She felt helpless unable to ease his pain. Just then in her head she heard the voice

If anything happens to Dayo Iya Bose will never forgive you.

She started crying again and the nurses had to help her out to the waiting room where she now sat.
The time was six in the morning. Annalise had left right before they called her in to see Dayo because she had to get some sleep and still go to work. Tomi was very grateful she had someone to stay the night with her at the hospital, she wouldn't have survived it otherwise.

Just then her phone vibrated in her hand. It was Todd, she wondered why he hadn't arrived yet. She would have liked to go see Dayo with him by her side.

"Hello"

"Hey partner, where are you I'm at the hospital lobby already"

"I'll meet you there"

When Tomike set her eyes on Todd, she couldn't recognise him. He looked frail and tired. The well built tall man she knew now looked like a long electric pole. Just as she was trying to phantom what had happened to him he set eyes on her.

"Tomike!" He took a few steps and soon his tall figure towered above her. She hugged him and it felt good. She felt like all her worries had been washed away by his presence.

"Partner, oh God what happened" he said as he detached from her and cupped her face in his hands, worry in his eyes.

"It's a long story, let's go in first" she placed her hand on his hands as they still held her face.

"Alright" he replied as they walked into the hospital elevators.
