(Tam's POV:)

I shift uncomfortably in my seat, aware that Keefe is watching me. What's his problem? I can feel my cheeks burning. But I can't blame his for staring at me, after everything I've done to him, it's only natural. I try my best to focus on my Universe homework. But my concentration has evaporated and now all I can think about is that Keefe is watching me with a weird expression. Finally, I give up.

"What?!"

He flinches, uh oh, did I scare him? Is he afraid of me? Does he blame me for what happened after all? I stare at him.

"N-nothing."

He seems scared.. or worried.. I squint at him for a moment, confused, and then shrug, turning back to my Universe homework. Well, whatever it is, it's not my problem. I can feel the shadowflux twisting in my stomache, making me uneasy, or maybe that's just me. Either way, I don't feel good. I gulp. Suddenly, I feel a hand grip mine. I spin my head around to see Keefe watching me with his familiar smirk.

"You looking a little green, Bangs boy, and sadly, you don't rock it like Foster does."

I blink, taken aback. Why is he talking to me now?

"You.. aren't mad?"

"No, of course I'm not mad, I told you not to blame yourself in the throne room, remember? Guess you didn't listen."

He shakes his head in mock hurt, and I feel my uneasiness begin to lift.

"Look.. I'm sorry you think it's your fault.. I'm sorry you even had to be there. It's all part of my mum's creepy little game, and anything that happens is her fault, not yours. Got it Bangs boy?"

I nod, surprised that he took it upon himself to tell me this. I guess he isn't that bad, after all.

"Thanks, Keefe."

"That's Lord Hunky Hair to you."

"Do I--"

"Nope. You don't."

"Good to know?"

"You're welcome."

Great. Now it's awkward. I find myself staring into Keefe's eyes for who knows how long before he breaks the silence by clearing his throat. I start back to my senses. Oh my god.. I probably look like an idiot now.. Ugh. I can feel my cheeks burning red and I turn my head to hide it. I can see his usual smirk, but he seems a little uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry again for-"

"What did I tell you, Bangs boy?"

"Okay, fine."

"It's cute watching you care about me, though. Keep it up, Bangs boy. At least somebody does."

He's smiling, but it doesn't reach his eyes. Guess that's what he gets for having amazing parents.

I get it. More than a lot of elves.

"Uh.. earth to Bangs boy?"

I shake my head to get out of it, getting hair in my mouth in the process.

(Keefe's POV:)

I feel kinda bad for giving Tam such a bad time when I first met him.

"You're... alright, I guess."

That's all I can make myself say. It's not like he's my bestie now. Plus, Bang boy's expression is priceless. He's even blushing. I think. Why does that- never mind.

"Uh.."

I smirk even wider, who would have guessed that Bangs boy would be even easier to mess with than Foster? I've clearly been missing out! Who knew?
