(Tam's POV:)

"Uh.. sorry, Tam.. I must've been half asleep."

I blink, Keefe doesn't..

"Uh.. did anything.. happen?"

"No, nothing."

I silently curse myself for letting Keefe win. How could this happen?! I'm so careless!

"Uh.. Tam?"

"Oh.. yeah, sorry"

"Uh.. I think I should go back to Elwin now."

"Oh. Right."

(Keefe's POV:)      (Splendor Plains)

Oh god.. what did I do this time? I groan when I realize there were hickeys scattered on Tam's neck. I'm such an idiot. I've probably scared him off. I sigh, flopping on the floor, oh god, I have school.. I totally forgot. I groan and stand up, looking around for my uniform.

(At Foxfire)

I looked around for Tam, spotting him almost immediately. I run towards him, and he sees my coming and waves. I feel my heart skip a beat. Wait- what? Do I like Bangs boy? Ugh.. of course I do. I realize I have nothing to say to him, and I just stand there awkwardly. I notice that Tam has flipped his collard up to hide the hickeys that I probably gave him. I scan his face, looking for any trace of discomfort or disgust.

"I hate that you're taller than me."

I blink. I am?

"Really? I haven't even noticed!"

"Huh."

(Tam's POV:)

"Um.. so.."

"Wanna ditch PE with me?"

"Uh, sure"

I'd honestly have said yes to anything Keefe asked me to do with him. Wow, what has happened to me? I follow him. I can still feel the hickeys on my neck tingle a little, but I don't mind. Annoyingly, now Linh knows about my stupid crush. Who would've thought that I'd end up liking KEEFE of all people?! He shows me to a bench.

"This is my favorite ditching spot, it's where I met Foster."

I feel the smallest twinge of jealousy. Don't be a moron, Tam. Keefe flops down on the bench, and shuffles to give me some space to sit. I sit down next to him and our knees touch slightly, making my cheeks feel warm. God.. I hope he can't sense my feelings if I'm touching him..

"You're wondering if I can sense your emotions when I touch you, right?"

"Woah, yeah, how'd you know."

"Your face says it all."

"Oh. Not my emotions?"

"Nope. Can't feel a thing."

(Keefe's POV:)

I feel Tam's relief surge through me. I lied. I can feel his emotions. But they're not as strong as the usual elf. With Tam, my quirk works like it did before my mum did the creepy experiments on me. But Tam doesn't need to know that. Anyway, I can feel a comforting warmth flowing from him, and I resist the urge to protest when he moves his knee.

"Can I play with your hair?"

"What?"

"Can I play with your hair? Pleaseeeeee?"

Tam glares at me, but his mouth is twitching, which I take as a yes. He rolls his eyes as I force him to rest his head on my lap. I can feel the warmth rush through me again, and I start playing with his bangs.

"Huh, I guess your hair isn't THAT stupid."

"Like your is any better?"

I tug on his bangs sharply to annoy him.

"Nobody insults the hair, bangs boy."

He reaches up to play with my hair, but I dodge him.

"Nope."

He sighs. I continue to play with the long silver-and-black strands until I realize that Tam has fallen asleep.
