Night School¹
"Lock it, lock it!" Scott exclaimed, staring at Stiles as the three teenagers held the doors shut. Stiles' eyes widened even more, if that were possible.
"Do I look like I have a key?" He asked rhetorically.
"Grab something!" Scott exclaimed.
"Like what?"
"Anything!" Both Scott and Laila replied.
Laila's eyes quickly looked around the hallway, trying to spot something that could hold the doors shut. Her eyes went back to Stiles when she noticed him stand up. He looked out the window in the door, eyes searching the area and landing on the bolt cutters laying at the bottom of the stairs. Laila and Scott both looked out, realizing what he was thinking.
"No," Scott said quickly, trying to keep him in.
Stiles had his eyes locked on the cutters and his mind was set. "Yes."
"Stiles, don't-" Laila cut herself off when he opened the door.
He ignored their protests, stepping outside carefully and looking around. Scott and Laila held the door shut behind him, the two of them peeking out the window to watch him. When Stiles didn't see the Alpha anywhere in sight, he made his way down the steps towards the bolt cutters. He crouched down, hand wrapping around the handle.
As soon as Laila noticed the Alpha crawling out from behind his Jeep, her stomach dropped. Her eyes widened and her hand slammed repeatedly on the door, the girl shouting out to him, "Stiles! Come back!"
Scott took notice of the Alpha as well, his own hand slamming against the blue door. "Come back, come back!"
Stiles looked back at the two, feeling confused because when he checked, he was all alone out there. But then he turned, and his eyes widened at the sight of the Alpha on all fours, red eyes staring directly at him. It wasted no time in running towards him, out for blood. Stiles quickly grabbed the bolt cutters and ran back up the steps, wrenching open the door and pulling it shut behind him. As the doors shut, he put the handles of the cutters in the handles of the door, holding it shut.
Laila let out a sigh of relief as he did so, feeling a little bit more safe. The three slowly peaked back outside, eyes roaming the area that was visible for the Alpha. It was gone.
"Where is it?" Scott asked. "Where'd it go?" Stiles flicked on the flashlight, shining it outside the window. None of them saw the Alpha, which was a slight relief.
"Why don't we just run back to the Jeep while we don't see it?" Laila asked, eyes moving from the window to look between the boys.
"Because it could be hiding out there, waiting," Stiles answered. Laila nodded, though she couldn't really process his reasoning because she was still in shock over what had just happened.
The Alpha had practically come out of nowhere. It had to be Deaton, right? I mean, he escaped the back of Dereks car and then the Alpha appeared. And then Derek was dead. Derek is dead.
"That won't hold, will it?" Scott asked as the three slowly backed away from the doors.
"Probably not," Stiles replied.
