This is inspired by that jenlisa video edit I stumbled upon on twitter that I have been dying to write but just couldn't find the means (whatever that is) to start it right then and there but here you go.
You know how this one shot compilations work.

Chaeyoung's eyes wander around the beach area, feet sinking and making prints into the sand, looking for her friend that excused herself after the toss.
The cold and a hint of humidity in the night breeze hit against her face is somehow allowing her to stay awake, it has been a long day and she had a few glass of liquor to top it off — she won't even be surprised if she falls face first right then and there and she'll just doze off but no, she needs to find her.
Several steps away from the bustling beachside venue, she spots her. Clad in white with a grayish tone sundress under white blazer jacket, one hand holding her flat sandals, her now black hair tied up in a messy bun — with her back facing Chaeyoung — eyes looking at the glassy and calm ocean waters.
Chaeyoung stands right beside her and stays quiet. At times like this, Chaeyoung knows she'll let her have the freedom to talk whenever she's ready and comfortable. Despite barely seeing each other for the past 3 years after their disbandment and going on separate ways, Chaeyoung still knows her bestfriend. Four years of pre-debut friendship before they became the most decorated girl group in the history for over a decade, she knows when to push buttons and when to not.
"What are you doing here?"
"The waters called me."
There's a soft chuckle which effectively makes Chaeyoung smile. "We're 37 Chaeng why are you still so lame?"
"Age doesn't define that."
"Agreed."
Silence, then. "Jisoo unnie is looking for you."
"Let me guess, another one of her drunk moments where she can't stop blabbering why I had to leave Seoul 3 years ago?"
"On point."
"Why did you let her drink so much?"
"She's 39."
"Doesn't change the fact that she has low alcohol tolerance."
"Also doesn't change the fact that she is 39. This is just a small gathering anyway and no paps are around so she's good. Her husband is there to stop her in case she'd talk so much."
"Good point. I'm glad unnie really found someone like oppa."
"That makes the two of us."
And another silence saved by the sounds of the waves hitting the shore. Chaeyoung tries so hard not to say anything and she probably had become very fidgety and it caught the other's eyes.
"Go ask away."
Chaeyoung sighs. "When are you flying back to Thailand?"
"Tomorrow, 7 o'clock in the morning."
"That's early."
"I see no reason to stay here that much longer."
Chaeyoung could only sigh. "I would sound like a broken record if I say the same line I had been telling you for the past years but I just wished you both had a chance to give it a try."
"You know that's never going to happen. She had never looked at me the same way as I look at her. But I meant what I said back there, I am genuinely happy for her."
