Brambleberry watched Hawkwing as her paw dabbed at the solid ice below her, trying to break it to fish. A couple moons had past, and now it was Leafbare, the most difficult time for all the clans. He let out a sigh and rolled his eyes before he padded up to her and peered down at the ice she was working on. There was barely even a crack!

"What in Starclan's name are you doing?!" He hissed to her, turning to stare at her with narrowed amber eyes. Hawkwing growled at him and stepped away. Her emerald eyes glared at him as she replied.

"I'm trying to break the ice, what does it look like?!" She hissed back. Over the course of the moons after Brambleberry had the strange dream, he and Hawkwing started to argue a lot more. He opened his mouth to say something, but shut it when Icewing burst out from the bushes. He blinked and his eyes widened at Hawkwing and Brambleberry before he shifted his paws uncomfortably.

"Umm... Am I.... Interrupting something?" He asked, glancing from one cat to the other.

"Yes!" Brambleberry hissed angrily.

"No!" Hawkwing mewed at the same time. They both glared at each other and Hawkwing turned away from the massive dark brown tabby.

"What do you need Icewing?" She asked. He glanced at Brambleberry warily and flicked his ear.

"Brightface needs to talk to you." He mewed softly. Hawkwing followed the miniature white tom with the grey stipe running along his back and flicked her ear at Brambleberry when she passed him. She didn't even give him a second glance as they disappeared behind the trees. He growled and stared down at the ice angrily. He raised a paw and smashed it down onto the ice, forceful enough to crack it, but not enough to break it. He sighed and followed the two warriors back to camp, glaring at his paws silently the whole way.

Was it too late to wish for everything to return back to how it was when they were kits?
