Prologue: you are Y/n, a human. Kai slept over at your house because he is your best friend and you thought it would be fun. Now it's the next morning.

Y/n woke up to see that Kai wasn't next to her. They had fallen asleep cuddling like they always do. She adjusted her eyes to the light and saw Kai at her door. He had a phone in one hand and sunglasses on. 

"Kai what are you doing? Come back to bed" she said patting his spot on the bed. Kai tapped his phone and Call me maybe started playing on her speaker. "I threw a wish in the well, don't ask me, I'll never tell I looked to you as it fell and now you're in my way I trade my soul for a wish, Pennies, and dimes for a kiss I wasn't looking for this, but now you're in my way" Kai walking to y/n and getting her off the bed to dance with him. 

They danced around together holding hands and Kai spun her around then pulled her to him to tango dance and she laughed. "Hey I just met you!" y/n sang still laughing. "And this is crazy," Kai said letting go of y/n he jumped onto the bed to dance on it. "but here's my number, So call me, maybe!"  y/n sang joining Kai on the bed to dance. Kai picked her up off the bed then grabbed the phone and they danced down the stairs. More idiotic dancing together until the song ended and Kai went behind her and pulled her down with him on the couch.

"That was fun," she said out of breath and Kai nodded. Kai started growling like a dog and she knew what was going to happen. "Don't you dare" she said and laid down. Kai pounced on top of her and she laughed. He brought his nose to the crook of her neck making noises as if he were tearing into it. She laughed and Kai started to tickle her at her hips. "Kai no," she said laughing. He lifted up his head laughing and continuing to do it. About a minute late Kai stopped and he was laughing. "You're so mean to me," y/n said with a laugh and Kai laid down on top of her. 

"oh please, you love me," Kai said with a smirk and a wink. Her hair was a mess and Kai noticed, he brushed her hair out of her face with his hand ever so gently letting his eyes follow where his hand went. Y/n's eyes locked in his, he finished the hair and traced his finger down her jawline. "has anyone ever told you that you are really beautiful." Kai quietly said and then looked into her eyes. Her cheeks had flushed red from his comment. 

"uh no- I mean yes but- its- its complicated" y/n was at a loss of words and Kai smiled a little and brought his head towards her to kiss her. His lips felt warm and soft. She slowly kissed him back. "I thought that I would do what you wanted to say," Kai said and she went in for another kiss completely mesmerized by the first one. 

"Y/n I brought donuts," Stefan said walking into the living room. "Yes! finally Jesus christ!" Stefan yelled and Kai and y/n stopped kissing. "She has been talking about how much she liked you for the past year and finally you admitted your in love with him yes!" Stefan announced and her heart dropped. She pushed Kai off of her and walked to Stefan, grabbed his ear to pull him into the other room.

"What the hell Stefan," she said almost in tears in fear of Kai not being her friend anymore because she thinks that he is freaked out now. "I didn't say anything, he kissed me okay I didn't want him to know that I'm in love with him yet" she sobbed and sorrow filled Stefan's eyes. "Y/n I'm so sorry I didn't-" Stefan began before she interrupted. "Just leave Stefan." She wouldn't look him in the eye. Stefan put the donuts down then left. She hesitantly walked back into the living room to see Kai looking down sitting on the couch. 

"Hi," she said unable to think of anything else to say. Kai took her hand and softly pulled her to the couch where she took a seat. She didn't look at him she looked at the ground and at her socks that had little dog prints on them. 

"Y/n?" Kai said lifting her head to look at him. "Why are you ashamed? If I didn't feel the same way why would I have kissed you?" he asked and y/n shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe you were pranking me..." she sadly said and Kai sighed. "I wouldn't prank you about that y/n. I promise" he said and put up his pinky finger. She looked at him and back at his hand. She had to trust him. She interlocked her pinky with his and he smiled a little. She hugged him and he hugged her back.

"So, you're in love with me huh?" Kai asked with a laugh and she stopped hugging him to shove him. "Sorry Sorry," he said still laughing and she rolled her eyes. "Oh calm down," Kai said and then leaned in to kiss her. She kissed back then pulled away and looked back at the floor. "What's wrong? Am I bad at kissing?" Kai sarcastically said then laughed. 

"No, that's not it, I mean you're good at it but no that's not it," she said and he smiled at her compliment. "then what is it?" he asked moving closer to her and putting his arm around her. "I just feel weird, I mean we have been best friends for a long time now and now we are kissing and I don't know, I just feel odd," she said looking up from the ground. 

"Is it that weird fuzzy feeling that you get in your stomach? and it feels weird and your cheeks feel warm? cause that's the feeling I have right now" Kai said and y/n smiled a little bit. "What is that feeling?" he asked her and she took a deep breath. "It means you're in love." She said exhaling and Kai nodded with a smirk. 

"I like that feeling then," Kai said and y/n smiled and hesitantly leaned in to kiss him. Her lips met his and she instantly felt like she had melted by his touch. She laid back on the couch as they kissed so Kai was hovering over her. He stopped kissing her and laid his head down on top of her chest and whined. 

"What are you whining about?" y/n asked with a laugh. "cause I want you to be mine" Kai whined and y/n looked at him in awe. "I am yours" she replied hugging him to her. "Yay," Kai said lifting his head up to look at her. "God your such a big baby" she laughed and cupped his face to kiss him. "I love you, Malachai Parker" y/n said still cupping his face. "I love you too y/n l/n," Kai said and then got up to pick you up and bring you upstairs.

Y/n and Kai were upstairs in her room cuddling and exchanging kisses once and a while. "Kaiiii" y/n whined and Kai laughed. "Yes, pumpkin?" Kai asked with a smile. "can we take pictures?" she asked and Kai smiled a little and got out his phone. They both sat up and went onto Kai's Instagram. They first took a photo where Kai was sticking out his tongue and Y/n was crosseyed. The next one they took was y/n giving Kai a kiss on the cheek and Kai was shocked. They took a lot more photos. 

A knock from the door and someone walked up the stairs. "Uh, thanks for letting me answer before you barged in," she said and rolled her eyes. "oh shut it y/n, Kai, I swear to god if you post 1 more thing I'm gonna kill you, you posted 24 pictures on Instagram and 15 on Snapchat! of you and y/n! Stop posting!" Damon yelled at Kai and y/n and Kai started laughing. 

"You're being ridiculous Damon," Kai said laughing so hard he was coughing. "What is so funny?" Damon asked and y/n stopped laughing to tell him. "because your overreacting and you didn't even look at the pictures did you," she said and Damon took out his phone. "Yes I did, there's one of you two making silly faces and one of you two kissing- KISSING?! Wait! are yall?" Damon asked shocked and she nodded and he looked at Kai then at her. 

"But you're hot and he's not," Damon said and Kai gave him a look. "I'll have you know, I am very hot Damon," Kai said whipping imaginary hair. "Yeah okay but still stop posting! my phone is blowing up." Damon said crossing his arms. "Listen old man there's a button that can turn the notifications off." she sarcastically said and Kai laughed. "I- whatever" Damon said then left. 

"he annoys me," Kai said cuddling up to her "oh calm down, we did take some good pictures though," she said with a smile. "I like seeing the in-person you better than pictures," Kai said and she felt her heart beating faster. "you can be sweet when you want to be," she said and kissed the top of his head. "I can always be sweet if you want," Kai said and she smiled. "I'd like that," she said and he kissed her gently. "then you're wish is granted," Kai said with a smile and she cuddled up to him. "I love you," Kai said, she loved hearing those words come out of his mouth. "I love you too" she answered.
