"You know, you were so easy to predict," the man chuckled to himself. Dasker stood in an old, dirty room, surrounded by steel bars. His wrists and feet were freshly chained to the cracked, brick walls. A breeze swept around the room, blowing around the age-old dust coating the whole cell. "Of course if your girlfriend was in so much pain that it was killing her, you would take the chance- try turning her into a hybrid." He slowly shook his head. "But the chances of her actually turning are extremely low, so perhaps you just wanted to take her out of her misery?" At his insinuation, Dasker growled, baring his fangs. "Either way, you would surely ingest some of her blood. So, I thought, why not just taint it with poison!" He let out an evil laugh. "A poison for only vampires, of course. I didn't need to kill her when I already had you do that for me. And if, by chance, she didn't die because of your bite, surely the enhanced pain would do the job." Dasker felt a stab at his heart at the thought of Raven and her heartbeat slowing until it was nonexistent. Questions raced through his mind. Did he kill her? Had she turned? Did they have her? The man began walking away, making his way up the stone brick stairs.

"When I get out, I'll make sure to make you suffer," Dasker snarled. The man stopped in his tracks.

"You should learn to shut your mouth sometimes. The only reason I'm keeping you alive is because I now, unfortunately, need you." He turned to face Dasker, a smile on his face. "Who knows, maybe I'll let you watch as I, Vilkas, become the first to take down a lycan." All of a sudden, shouts and screams could be heard from above. Vilkas ran up the stairs at once, leaving Dasker alone in the cell. As soon as the door above closed, Dasker pulled his arms forward, yanking the chains from the wall. He did the same with his legs, allowing his body freedom of movement as he broke the chains and removed them from his body. Red marks formed where the steel pushed up against his ankles and wrists. He grabbed the steel bars in front of him, trying to pry them apart, but with no luck. They were heavily reinforced. The sounds of fighting continued on in the area above him, and he was sure that it was his pack, though it seemed like they were accompanied by others. An insane amount of footsteps could be heard sprinting around, and it seemed much greater than that of a single pack. Dasker, where are you? Cayden mind-linked him. In the dungeon, he replied. After a couple of minutes, all the noise from above had ceased. It grew silent, with only the night air drifting around. He heard the door that Vilkas had left from swing open, and a heavy, thundering pair of footsteps made their way down the stairs. An enormous figure appeared before Dasker, shadowing him in the dim light. It bared its massive, sharp canines, which were covered in blood, along with its long, black claws. Lycan. Once it stood before him, Dasker kneeled down, one knee remaining off the ground, and bowed his head. He was ready to surrender his rule, and life, and serve the lycan for eternity. He had sworn to the Moon Goddess he would do so, and Dasker was one to keep his word. Although it pained him to think about leaving Raven, he recognized that he was grateful, nonetheless, for having met her. For the first time, he felt love, and that alone made his life feel purposeful. She gave him a greater purpose than he could ever hope for.

Still looking down, he noticed the hovering shadow shrink. In a swift moment, it went from a large, broad figure, to a much smaller one. Steadily, Dasker pulled his head up, confusion and surprise fighting for dominance in his mind. In front of his eyes stood the one person who had gained his heart. She stood exposed, but she didn't seem to notice nor care. Her eyes watered as she gazed at him, and a sudden feeling flooded his senses. His eyes swirled red as he grabbed the bars in front of him again, pulling them apart with ease. He stepped out of the cell, his eyes fixed on hers. Quickly, he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his chest as she tightened her hold on him. Her shoulders relaxed in his embrace. Dasker pulled back slightly so that they were looking at each other and placed his hands on either side of her face, wiping her single tear with his thumb before leaning down and planting his lips onto hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down more so that she could deepen the kiss. Their eyes were both closed, taking in the pleasure of each other's touch. Raven's cheeks flushed a deep red as she moved her hands up and ran her fingers through his hair, trying to pull him closer. Their passion only grew as the kiss progressed, and Dasker got lost in the texture of Raven's soft, warm lips. Once they eventually broke away, both out of breath, their fingers intertwined as they leaned against each other's foreheads, their noses slightly bumping.

Taking in what he had just seen- Raven standing where the lycan had stood only seconds before- a slight grin appeared on his face as he let out a genuine, quiet chuckle. His eyes still glimmering red, Dasker whispered into her ear, "I love you." Raven pulled away, her hands still in his, as she stared up at Dasker. "And I swear my life to you, my Queen Lycan..." He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her lips, "my mate." He could hear Raven's heart rapidly beat inside her chest, and it only made his grin grow wider. She pulled his head back down to hers, returning his kiss before muttering her own words.

"I love you."
