"Jimin!" Taehyung calls his name with a bright smile on his face."No." Jimin declines.
"Jimin come on!" The younger whines with a pouty bottom lip.
"No." Jimin declines once again.
"What about even doing homework together?" Tae offers knowing Jimin hates doing homework and would take any help he could get.
"Fine." The black haired boy rolls his eyes and sighs heavily.
Taehyung has been trying to get Jimin to hang out with him for a whole week. Naturally Jimin is pretty uninterested, seeing as though having a friend is still pretty new for him. He had no idea how friendships work or how much effort they require. He's already tired. Already exhausted mentally and it hasn't even been a month yet.
"Class?" Jimin walks with Taehyung happily trailing along next to him. The wind blows gracefully as they walk through the park to get to the library.
"Math? I'm pretty good with it!" Tae exclaims with the same boxy smile as always. Jimin though annoyed with the boy next to him is actually quite grateful for his presence. Taehyung brings positive energy everywhere he goes and it's starting to wear off on Jimin in the best way. The dark haired boy is smiling and more open to upbeat things.
"Sure." Both boys walk into the quiet library and wave to the librarian as they take over one of the tables. They pull out their textbooks and calculators and get straight to work. Taehyung knows better than to try to goof around after he said he wouldn't.
"Number t-ten?" Jimin asks. He has trouble with math and basically all other subjects. Not because he isn't paying attention but rather whenever he has a question he is too afraid to ask. But Taehyung makes him feel safe. Taehyung makes him feel like he would never make fun of him and that is the only reason Jimin can speak normally without hesitation around the younger.
"Um for number ten I got x=19." Jimin sighs evidently not getting the same answer or anything remotely close.
"You'll get it Min. Don't worry." Taehyung gives him an encouraging smile and explains how he got the answer. Eventually Jimin gets the hang of it and with the help of Taehyung he finishes the assignment.
"Thank you." Jimin expresses his gratitude with a light tap on the shoulder to which Taehyung was ecstatic about. Physical contact is something he's learned Jimin is not a fan of. So this means a lot to him even if it's only a tiny gesture.
"Of course Min-ah." Taehyung smiles again.
"Still no to t-the name." Jimin says but they both know he adores them.
"You'll learn to love them don't worry." They both laugh and every time Taehyung hears a giggle from Jimin his heart softens a little.
"Your laugh is adorable." Jimin blushes furiously at the compliment.
Compliments.
They have never been given to him before. But now that Taehyung is around he gets them left and right. It makes him feel so vulnerable so he won't allow it from anyone else. Taehyung is a safe place. Taehyung wouldn't let anything happen to him. He promised.
"And don't blush like that it's gonna make me blush." They both giggle. As much as Taehyung doesn't want to admit it he might be developing feelings for the older that are more than platonic.
Jungkook expressed real concern for Jimins wellbeing knowing damn well Jimin would never take his comfort. So Jungkook sent him Taehyung.
After the day on the street Jungkook stopped it all because he didn't realized what he did. But when he did the best way he thought to help was giving Jimin a real friend. He knows well that Taehyung can befriend anyone and he really hoped that Taehyung would also get Jimin to forgive him. To not hate him the way he does now because Jungkook is far from hating Jimin. Taehyungs mission was never to catch feelings for the boy.
"W-Where are we going?"
"I actually want to talk to you about something." He tells him and Jimin nods as they continue to walk.
"About." Jimin asks.
"Jungkook." Taehyung says hesitantly with a sad smile.
"Why?" Jimins smile quickly falters as his lips press into a line.
"Do you think you would ever give him a chance to explain himself?" Jimin scoffs going completely silent as he rolls his eyes.
"I'm not trying to push you. It's just- Jungkook is my best friend... and we care about you." Taehyung says and Jimins face scrunches up in disgust. He hates Jungkook and honestly believes nothing can change that.
"No. You do. He- h-he's a monster." Jimin says angrily feeling his tears well up.
"I promise he's not Jimin." Taehyung whines. He doesn't want Jimin to hate Jungkook either. He would really prefer if they were all friends but knows very well that won't happen. Not with the drastic difference between Jimin and Jungkooks feelings.
"You have no clue what he's done to me." Jimin winces. Taehyung just moved back to the school so he didn't see all the times Jungkook taunted or harassed him.
"I have an idea." Taehyung sighs remembering what the raven had told him about his relationship with Jimin.
"Then y-you wouldn't be saying this." Jimin huffed.
"But-"
"This is done." Jimin dismisses and Taehyung thinks it's best not to push him any more. This is going to take a while, he thinks.
