"So...you don't live in Red Fountain anymore?
"No, Muse. Even though I finished two years ago, I still stay there to complete my studies. You know how it is, to become a paladin, you have to stay there for a while longer. You know, the uniforms we wear change as our rank changes, as do the pins and gems. But since Codatorta and Saladin don't give us any trouble, we can stay outside the school as well."
"How lucky you are..."
"Ah, come on, you're graduating in a few weeks, pixie."
"Don't call me pixie!!!"
"Anyway, I rented this apartment also because this way we can be a little intimate without breaking up..." he says looking bossily at her cleavage. He pours her wine and then goes to heat up the dinner he had prepared before picking her up.
"Am I going to get intoxication tonight?" she asks laughing.
"You'll find out for yourself" He returns to the table and sits across from her. He looks at her intently. "You rather... if you were convinced I wanted to leave you, why did you dress like that?" he says sipping some wine. Musa glows turning purple, Riven laughs.
"Touché, pixie!"
"Well, I... oh but why do you care!"
"I care, all right. You're so beautiful I'd go straight to dessert..." He says undressing her with his eyes.
"Riv, can you not be a pig for one night?" she says laughing.
"Me? A pig??" he says playing dumb. He then laughs too, getting up and kissing her. He goes to the kitchen to serve dinner. He had prepared a seafood dinner, giving the fairy goosebumps. Musa wondered where on earth he got all that money to afford all that good stuff, fancy apartment... As he serves her dinner, she can't help but laugh.
"You're clumsy when you're being gallant."
"Look, I'm already making an effort, don't you piss me off..."
All served, Musa enjoys his dinner. Besides being an asshole, idiot, jealous and arrogant, he was also a good cook. Giggling as she eats, he looks up at her.
"Well?"
"Oh nothing, nothing... I was picturing you in an apron desperate housewife style!"
"Ah yes, eh... next time I'll cook in front of you, maybe without anything under the apron..."
"RIVEN!" she says choking up.
They finish dinner, Musa was satisfied and most of all heartened. She hears her cell phone vibrate, it was Aisha who had answered after a while.
You didn't even have to ask, my friend. Have a nice evening and use condoms! I'm too young to be an aunt!
Musa laughs reading that message. She puts her phone away, she had other things to think about now. Riven gets up, approaching her.
"Come, I'll show you the rest of the house. It's not huge but it's comfortable."
She nods. On the fist floor, besides the kitchen-living room, there was another room, still empty without furniture, and a small guest bathroom. At the end of the living room, there was an elegant wrought-iron staircase that led to the upstairs attic. There was a small hallway and then three doors: one led to the terrace, the other was a small equipped laundry room and finally the bedroom. In the bedroom, there was a bathroom with a large glass shower. The whole house was furnished with modern, minimal but elegant furniture. They reflected Riven's personality: he didn't like sophisticated things that were too full of frills.
