Me and Adam make our way down the stairs to be greeted by his mum. "You must be Sophia" she took my hand shaking it very enthusiastically. "Yeah I am" I smile back to her "it's lovely to meet you. Your house is gorgeous". His mums eyes widen and smiles back at me "why thank you it's lovely to meet you too".
"Suck up" Adam whispers to me smirking before following his mum into the living room. I follow behind them slowly taking in my surroundings. Pictures were hung of Adam when he was younger, him on his first days of school, with family and him when he played for the hawks.
"Can I get you anything?" His mum asks as she sits down on the opposite sofa me and Adam were sat on. "Oh no I'm ok thank you", I try to smile as I play with my hands. "Adam said you have helped him pass history".
"Oh" I turn to look at him as he is just smiling away nodding in agreement "I wouldn't say helped him pass. We helped each other through that class" I try to swallow the lump in my throat. "Well what ever you are doing is helping him pass"
I turn to Adam "I need a B or above to stay in the team and I was just under a B before you now I'm sitting at A" he shrugs looking back to him mum. "Why didn't you say". "Because you would do that thing where you get all worrying and concerned when it isn't that big a deal".
"Well what ever you did I am grateful, hockey is Adam's life and since he left the hawks we didn't think he would get far but now with the college scouts looking out for him he really needs this". I see Adam at the corner of my eye, his head dropped and hands clasp. "I've seen him play, your son is very talented". Adam slightly scoffs shaking his head smiling.
"Ah so your the girl who my son talks about so fondly and frequently. Hello nice to meet you" a tall man spoke with his hand out. "It's lovely to meet you mr banks I'm Sophia" I take his hand gulping trying to stay as calm as possible. As he sits down beside his wife Adam turns to me "I- I don't talk about you that much". "Sure you do" his mum smiles as I fight back the urge to start laughing. "Ok can we change the subject please" he begs hiding his face.
After a dinner that was surprising good and a lot of making Adam feeling embarrassed me and him were sat outside on his stairs under the moonlight. "Told you it wouldn't be that bad" he nudges my arm smiling. "Guess you were right". He sits back with his arms placed behind him "I am always right you should know that by now". I laugh and look at him as he raises an eyebrow at me "something funny?" I shake my head trying not to laugh more "good".
"You know you should feel incredibly lucky". "What how" he sits up and turns to face me. "You know how many girls my dad actually like" I shrug as I wait for him to respond "none your the first he hardly even like Connie and Julie". My heart beats like slightly faster as look down. "There's something about you. No one can hate you". I laugh slightly as I look back up to him and cross my legs "I'm sure there's people out there that hate me". "Oh come on as if. Your like magic you have people rapped around your finger and man I think your powers are stronger on me because I would probably jump off a cliff if you told me too".
"Ok shut up" I hit his shoulder as we both laugh. "I should go" I look at him as his face slightly saddens. "I will walk you a bit" he stands up holding his hand out. I take ahold of it as he lifts me up "I live down the street Adam". "I'm walking you deal with it now come on"
