THE INFAMOUS Madi is the daughter of Maleficent, and her mother has always reminded her that love is weakness. It is impossible to be in love and be a villain at the same time. Since she did find "love" on the island—until Maleficent broke her and her boyfriend up—Madi never really took that "advice" to heart. Ever since, she has made it a point to permanently inscribe the phrase "love is weakness" in her mind.
THE SON OF Beast and Belle, Prince Ben, has always been taught by his parents that love has the power to strengthen one, and that the more one loves the other, the stronger one becomes. He doesn't feel particularly strong in his "love" with Princess Audrey, though. Nothing really sparks between him and her. Nevertheless, Ben had welcomed five VKs from the Isle to live in Auradon as his first act as King of Auradon. Abruptly, he discovers that he is gradually falling in love with Maleficent's other daughter.
