"I can't believe you talked me into this." Christian said as he paced around the room.
"You are going to be great. Stop worrying." I chuckled.
"I am pretty sure I am not going to do well." He nervously stated.
His game was going to start in the next hour and here he was, freaking out about it in my room.
"Christian. You are a great player. Everything is going to be fine." I tried to calm him down.
"Val. I haven't played football since middle school." He told me.
"And still you were able to get a spot on the team. That means you have the skill. You just need the confidence." I stated as a matter of fact. "Come on. Plus me and your mom are going to be there, cheering for you at the top of our voices."
"I am sure you are. My mom would probably end up embarrassing me." He rolled his eyes.
"Give her a break. She is seeing you play after so many years." I said.
"Ugh. I hate it when you and Ma gang up on me." He fake-glared at me.
"We know that. Why do you think we do that?" I chuckled. "Plus, I don't want to miss out on an opportunity to wear your jersey.
His eyes immediately met mine.
"You are wearing my jersey?" He asked as he walked towards me.
"Obviously." I stated, trying not to blush under his gaze. "I am pretty sure your mom is wearing one too. Thank God for the washing machine. Your practice jerseys smell."
"My mom is wearing it because she is my mom. Why are you wearing it?" He smirked, trying to get a reaction out of me.
Of course I was going to wear his jersey. Why was I doing that? I have no clue.
We never officially got together. Do I want to be his girlfriend and him my boyfriend? Hell yes.
Do I have the guts to tell him that? Hell no. I have no idea why I am so nervous about it!
Instead of answering his question, I asked, "Do you not want me to?"
Now it was his turn to get flustered. "Yes. I- I mean, only if you want to." He said.
I just chuckled. "Then I am wearing your jersey because I want to."
