9. Winter Cup

POV Nora

The day of the beginning of the Winter Cup we took the morning for us, we had breakfast deciding we could see some matches after having some fun of our own, also seeing as Tobio sent me their schedule, and they were playing until later in the afternoon.

Soon enough I took Ryo's and Tetsu's hands and started walking, me in the middle, to a basketball, court, Ryo was upset, since we weren't playing tennis, but I had already decided to play basketball, so nothing he did change my mind,  in turn, he wore a pouty face to the court,  it wasn't noticeable, but having been his friend for a while now, I could easily tell he was pouting.

After a few shots, Tetsu and I practiced passing the ball, then Ryo wasn't mad anymore, so he decided to play along with us, after that, we went to have some pork buns to eat and head to the gym to see Tobio.

POV Ryoma

Today started the Winter Cup and I could tell Nora was excited, she didn't seem to notice, but she was half-skipping the whole morning and after breakfast, she took Kuroko and me to a basketball court, she said it was because we played tennis the other day, but I knew better, she was doing it for Kuroko, maybe even her didn't notice she did it for him, which made me a bit jealous, not that I would let her notice.

After watching her play with Kuroko for a bit, I decided that I should join them, I could no longer tolerate the looks they were giving each other and those brief moments in which their hands touched each other, maybe I was exaggerating, but having formed a deal with Kuroko didn't mean I was happy to share Nora.

After a while, we got hungry and went for a snack, and while we finished it we started walking to the Winter Cup.

POV Nora

As we reached the gym, we looked for Tobio's match, which was about to start, to my surprise, Tobio wasn't on the court, instead was the brown flirty guy, also known as Oikawa Tooru. I could tell it was his last year, but I came to see Tobio, so, not seeing him on the court was a bit depressing, still, we stayed in our seats.

After the first set, I could tell why Oikawa was standing on the court, he was, without a doubt, an incredible setter, as much as I would like to say Tobio was better, however, I know Tobio can grow, even bigger than anyone I've ever seen.

Starting the second set Tobio was subbed in, I can tell he is nervous, but he entered the court without doubting himself, as soon as the set started I knew he was trying his best, trying to do as we practiced the day before, even though his instincts told him otherwise.

But as the set went on, he started to trust his instincts, which isn't wrong, but his teammates do not have the same instincts, it started to interfere in the team's atmosphere, and soon the set ended, Tobio's team did win, however, it wasn't exactly what one would call an easy win, at least not the second set.

As the team went to thank the audience I screamed for Tobio 'Tobio!!' soon enough, he locked eyes with me, I gave a small smile, which he returned with a small and a bit crooked one, that smile caused me to giggle, and as we left the stands we ran into the team, I went towards Tobio after congratulating the team, and engulfed him in a hug. 'You did so well, it's just a matter of time, so just wait' I felt him nod and hug me back, not as tight, but as needed.

I slowly let go, giving one last squeeze to his hands and letting go with a smile 'See you around, Tobio' he nodded slowly and started walking to his team.

POV Kageyama

When the match started I could see Nora on the stands, she looked all through the court, looking for something, and soon enough her eyes locked with mine, she gave an encouraging smile, and even as I played only until the second set she stayed all the while, waiting and supporting me.

As I played I could tell I wasn't doing what she told me to, but the blocks are high and quick, and we must be quicker, I had to do something to surpass those blocks. I had to win.

I won. I could stand on the court more time. While we were thanking the audience for their support I heard Nora call my name, and I looked at her, she gave a slight smile which I returned with a nod. 

She approached my team and congratulated us, then she hugged me as only an older sister could, and the words she muttered were enough to make me smile, I could only nod and embrace her tighter, needing her warmth.

She gave one last squeeze to my hands, smiling while saying her goodbyes, then she walked away as I approached my team, who had walked away soon after her words.

Without a doubt, Nora has become really special to me, she gave off a mature attitude, and it was like reuniting with Miwa. I can't wait to see her again.
